Vans are RWD and to the best of my knowledge are WIDEBLOCKS the top bolts will be 130mm centres and the widest ones 330 mm centres

FYI Narrow blocks are 110 mm and 310 mm centres

DO NOT want a deeper pan / sump.
Want a larger capacity pan with trapdoors if possible for track work to prevent oil starvation under hi G cornering .
A used Moroso pan would be ideal if there is one out there gathering dust . :D

I had no probs with my series 4/5 RX7 transmission swap using the bell from a Mazda or Ford 4x4 that had a carby 54 motor in front of it.
The TOB,PB and spline are all the same and the speedo cable ans reversing light switch all fit straight up but the trams will sit on an angle and NO bashing of ...

Don't know if this has been picked up by others BUT information contained in the engine family "bottom end"is clearly wrong in stating "no sohc 4GX had oil squirters " My Au delivered Starion Turbo has them from the factory.
Moderators may want to/should edit the last paragraph to remove this ...

To the best of my knowledge FWD are narrow blocks where the centre to centre measurement of the widest bolts on the bell housing is 310 mm whereas the RWD wide blocks measured 330mm

The RWD and 4WD bell housings should be the same. Just be sure that its a transmission that bolted to a Mitsubishi 2555cc motor and not the Mazda 2605cc motor.

Can anyone advise weather the G54B bell required to fit the 7 box in a Starion comes from a 4wd or 2wd only????????
I have done the swap in my car but am searching for more bells for others.

One thing missing from the swap info is that the 7 ext housing needs to be shortened by the front to rear ...

If you put a 63 crank in a 64 block you will need pistons with a 6mm lower pin height OR 6mm longer rods due to the 64 block being 6mm higher than a 63 block.

THE PINS ARE NOT OFFSET AS THAT USUALLY REFERS TO THE POSITION OF THE PIN WHEN LOOKING AT THE TOP OF THE PISTON.
WITH STROKER PISTONS THE PIN IS MOVED 6MM=1/2 OF THE INCREASE IN STROKE CLOSER TO THE CROWN/TOP OF THE PISTON SO THE PISTON IS LEVEL WITH THE TOP OF THE BLOCK AT TDC

wrist pins rely soley on the oil mist to lubricate, so if you set up your dry sump to pull so hard that it creates a vacuum, the wrist pins will dry out and seize ...

Was probably getting confused with a destroker which is a 4g63 (88 mm stroke) crank in a 64 block useing 6 mm longer rods which will bring the pistons to the top of the block and give a better rod ratio which in turn makes for less side load on the bores/pistons and better revability and a capacity ...

I'm going for this swap using a 4G63 SOHC turbo <Starion/JDM early Galant Turbo> block with a DOHC GVR4 head.
What pistons will I need to use?
Will the SOHC pistons fit and not have any clearance issues with the DOHC head and valves.

You MUST use TC pistons under a TC head as the SOHC ...

If you don't want rebuild the bottom endso you can drill the thrust bearing then you can use PRO MA MBL8 in your engine oil and it also eliminates lifter ticking if you don't have the later lifters
I use it in my DOHC 2323 cc stroker 6 bolt

Maths wasn't my best subject and was wondering if there was a math geek out there who would be kind enough to do the math 4 me and give me the speeds in gears at say per 1000 or 6000rpms with the stock box/tranny and the RX7 tranny so I can compare them

Your head probably bent all the exhaust valves.
Another thing is that sometimes the oil pump belt shreds and takes out the timing belt or visa-versa. Was the oil pump drive belt OK?

Braking the belt usually doesn't mess up the head, just the valves..
BUT, just pull a cam tower off to check to see ...

The 4G63 come in wide block = rwd narrow block = fwd and 4wd
You can fit a wide block tranny to a NB useing a sandwich plate
IN THE 6 BOLT the blocks are the same BUT to fit a GEN 1 DOHC head on a GEN 1 SOHC 8 VALVE block you need to use the DOHC ally front cover ...

Is your MM a 2.0 or 2.4 liter DOHC gen 1 heads are big port and Evos small port so you will need the IM to match and reverse the TB for RWD
