4G63 SOHC --> DOHC pistons

Post by AllanL »

Hi!
I'm going for this swap using a 4G63 SOHC turbo <Starion/JDM early Galant Turbo> block with a DOHC GVR4 head.
What pistons will I need to use?
Will the SOHC pistons fit and not have any clearance issues with the DOHC head and valves.
Thanks.

You MUST use TC pistons under a TC head as the SOHC pistons do not have 4 valve releifs otherwise you will end up with bent valves as the TC head is an interferance design the SOHC is not .In case you don't fully understand if you break a cam belt the pistons will hit the valves in the TC but not in the SOHC head
