http://www.projectzerog.com appears to be a great site with lots of the necessities listed on the site's main page.

Sorry if I come off a little rash, but you have to understand that 100% of this information is listed either here or a short ways away from this site (usually linked).

To get started off on the right foot: The 4G63 from the VR4 is a narrow block, meaning you can either use a D50 trans, or use one of Bill Hinchner's bellhousings and a toyota trans (R154 seems the way to go if you have money). From there, it's mostly part matching and getting the motor and trans to sit right, along with solving the driveshaft.

Then there's wiring. God forsaken wiring.

there are three basic bolt patterns, the narrow block which means the two lower bolt patterns are spaced 310mm across, this came in all the front wheel and all wheel drive, first gen 4G63, the second gen 4G63

and the wide block that measues 13 1/2 in across at the two lower mounting bolts, that came on the 4G64 and the G54b engine

Then starting with the EVO4 through 9 the bolt pattern is changed from the narrow block in the two lower bosses

the original AWD or FWD flywheel is built to the same demensions in either the 6 bolt or the 7 bolt

I build all three housings, so you can choose any engine you want

This guy calls it 'express'. . .

Assuming there's a difference, do you know if you need a 4wd or 2wd box?

Actually in the states the "Ute" or "Strada" is a "Raider" not a Mighty Max, sorry this doesn't help but it may keep you from steering wrong.
93' Max, 4g64, 16v DOHC, 18G Turbo, Walbro 255L, 27" FMIC, 2.5" Exhaust, Aero Exhaust, AEM C2DI w/COP, 510cc Injectors, Running on Megasquirt 3-X.

Videos as soon as it's 100% up and running.
