Project Stellarion D50

Many of you here will think this is travesty, but I picked up a Conquest (with a friend, we split it) for $600.

The head is cracked because of the wastegate being stuck closed, but the engine does turn.

I'm pulling the engine/trans combo out of this car, separating it from the G54B and attaching ...

Question about viability of a G54B

Hello,

I am picking up a fairly worn Conquest this Friday (non runner) pretty much for its transmission. Don't worry, my friend is putting an SBC into it.

Now, assuming the engine isn't seized, how good of a motor is the 2.6? My original plan was to put a 2.0 narrowblock (I have several KM132 ...

I found a car with a narrowblock in RWD configuration!

Unfortunately it is prohibitively rare and only available to Canada.

It is a 1987 (Only) Hyundai Stellar and it will have the G63B installed.

I found this out the hard way when I drove to Buffalo (2 hours each way) to get a new engine (G64B from a Dodge D50) and went to remove the rear plate to ...

There is no distributor per-se on the DOHC, but there is some sort of thing at the back of the head - how do I get that to trigger my ignition? I have a points-style-converted-to-a-pcikup-sensor setup (one trigger wire running to an MSD box then to a distributor via single coil - MSD 6 ...

There are a number of possibilities to drive the SC, but first

Using the formula

Boost (psi) = (PR x 14.7 x V / C/2 ) - 14.7 - I

and plugging in the values (in inches)

5.356 (crank) and 3.146 (M90) is roughly 1.7

PR = 1.7
V = The M90 is 90 cubic inches or 1475 cc
C = 1,597 (/2 is ~798) It's ...
