No one really builds the SOHC especially the older 8 valve heads which share nothing in common with their 16v SOHC counter parts unfortunately. So if you were to build something, it would be a lot more custom than a DOHC setup if doing a turbo build for those power goals. What I mean by custom is ...

While I can say "Yes", it will as long as the gearbox matches the block (wideblock or narrowblock), I suggest you read up on this page

If possible, one already nodded for a R154 swap, other wise stock is fine.

5 lug swap pretty much done ;). Next step is remove remaining brake and fuel lines in the engine bay, wash out, clean, and start prepping the bay for the motor. Pickup gas pedal bolted up perfectly, just need to bend the rod a little to have full swing. Already took measurements for the new brake ...

You wouldn't, but he is answering your question about clutch stuff and starter. Clutch disc & PP don't care what motor you use, starter should work fine as long as it's a manual trans starter and not from a automatic. Tooth count difference on a flexplate vs a flywheel.

Starions should be 6 bolts as well, 7 bolts didn't come about till the 90s. Over here 7 bolts that may work come from 92-99 DSMs (Eclipse/talon/lasers). FWD flywheels are the about the same size as your stock siggy one, I know fwd 6 bolts are 110 teeth on the ring gear, but not sure about the 7s ...

If it's a 4g64, it should be a wideblock, but neither one really limits you if you go the bill Hincher made Bellhousing route, but if your thinking factory bolt on you need a wideblock transmission, either the one out of the pickup or a Starquest one, however pickups use cable clutch and Starions ...

It depends on your power goals for what transmission setup, but if you want least custom work, a R154 is not apart of your plans then, I'm sure someone else can fill you in there as I'm not too knowledgeable on the Starquests for rear end strengths.

Well Starions don't exist past 89 so I'm not sure where you got Pre-93 from.
It's not a matter of 6 bolt/7 bolt for mounting, it's that as US Starquests never came with 4g63s, so you use the pickup mounts from a truck that had g63/g64 in them. The brackets for the g52/g54 trucks are the same as the ...

Even though I said it's not too common, because in most cases you reach over an average amount of miles and bearings haven't failed, you should be good. The 7 bolts that were known for problems over here in the states were, '95-96 blocks. 97 autos had revised thrust bearings, 98+ had all revised ...

need to make some adjustments to fix this, we don't want to have to cut through the cross beam sections. It can actually sit lower than this if we remove the stock cross member which is supporting the trans to allow the car to remain mobile in the shop. Plan is to angle the motor just a tiny bit to ...

I was going to run MS because I always wanted to, but I'm leaning back towards link, I'd be hard pressed to find someone local that can help with tuning on MS. Evo ECU is an idea, but that would add to parts, because I would need a Evo Ecu + jumper harness to make it a plug n play ordeal.

Decided to go a different route, it's a complete ECU with the MAPDaddy 4 bar map sensor built in and it is the older style that requires splicing the MS harness to the stock harness if you plan to use the stock g63t engine harness. Never been installed and had it built about 4 years ago.
