So another member on projectzerogg "raptor reed" pointed out a critical crossroad/dilemma i would potentially encounter if i were to swap a built 4g64/3T into a starion: clutch setup. If i were to go from a d50/ mighty max (which the engine is in at the moment) to a starion, i would have to deal switching the clutch setup to hydraulic.
How much work does this involve? Is it simply buying starion parts, flywheel etc, or is there a bunch of fab work that needs to be done?
I remember reading from the main index transmission briefing about putting a wideblock 4g6x with a starion tranny but there was nothing said about this potential problem. It looks like this is the only problem i would run into other tha needing to use different motor mounts from a d50 mighty Max.
Anyone done this before?

I was referring to if you swapped a Hydraulic setup into a car other than a Starion, you missed that part where I noted that Starions are Hydraulic Setups and the Pickups are cable.
Thus why you aren't finding anything about this being an issue.

Yes, but if the engine is bolted up in a mightymax and driving, its a cable set up and i was planning to switch it to a starion which is a hydraulic set up. So you are saying cable set up to hydraulic isnt an issue, but the other way around would be?RaptorReed wrote:I was referring to if you swapped a Hydraulic setup into a car other than a Starion, you missed that part where I noted that Starions are Hydraulic Setups and the Pickups are cable.

(I basically have a built 2.4 wideblock with a 1g 4g63t head. And i had a box made for the firewalltof the mightymax to handle the CAS problem since the dohc isnt sitting transverse.
I plan to trash the truck and try to swap the 2.4 into the starion.
So after reading all the transmission and block info, am i looking at an expensive swap here if i decide to do it? (From mightymax to starion))?
