For the U.S. the wideblock is 13 1/4 inches, so the metric converter says 336mm across the bottom pins center to center. so I'd say the 340 is a wideblock considering your eyeball/meaduring device, It's definetly bigger than the the narrow bloks 12 1/2 317mm measurement.

I picked them up from the old Mightyd50.com site they're from the Haynes Manual for the truck, which I have. makes it easy to print a page and carry it out to the truck instead of the whole book. Plus you can supersize it.
Here's all of them from the book.

Just a Side Note, 4663 and 4G64 Rods ARE the same.
and you get a 2.3L motor because the bore is smaller.

The only fitment you are ordering is spline count. The clutch, pressure plate(s) and Button Flywheel are a package. You have to figure out how to get a Starter Ring Gear in there. I had my Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel machined down to accept the Button Flywheel, and got longer Flywheel Bolts (not from ...

best bet is to gather the manuals for Both and compare. or if you have the ability, get the 2 together and do a Visual comparison of the connectors and sensors. Mitsubishi re-uses a lot of stuff between models, and the 1.8 SOHC and the 2.4 SOHC are damn near identical in many ways, so there is a ...

The quest is to find "other" ratios that are mechanically compatible to the MM rear diff. My experience is that Mitsubishi re-used a LOT of parts amongst vehicle lines, i.e. my mechanical lifters are spec'd for a 1.8 liter motor (4g61) but are a direct replacement for the Hydraulic lifters in my 2.4 ...

Ok, I'm looking for more speed. I got a PM from an individual on another Forum wondering about a 3000GT Ratio, 3.307. he had "heard" it fit the MM Diff.
Well "heard" isn't good enough for me to Buy, but good enough to investigate.

Real Strong Springs for the Head, Solid Rockers, the hydraulic won ...

If it's a 4G64 and in a Pickup, it's a wideblock.
If it's in a Expo Van, it's a narrowblock.
