4g63 first startup thoughts

Hey guys/gals
Have been doing alot of reading into this and am a bit undecided on a startup method for my engine.
Most of the reading says you want to avoid idling on a new engine as this does nothing to bed the rings. All well and good. So needs load to bed them.
As the car isnt able to be driven ...

I used an aftermarket evo 4-6 bar and plate one, that just needed custom brackets welding on but fits nice between the frame rails.
Sorry dont have any better pics of the actual mounting

B2600 gearbox mounts! Post your pics please!

Hey all
Im interested to see how others have made a gearbox crossmember/modified the starion one to mount the B2600 box into a staz.
If anyone has pics of what they did etc id appreciate if you'd post them up.
Cheers

Right another crisis averted.
I pulled the clutch and FW off the motor this morning, then attached them together and slid them onto the input shaft. It went on to the same position it had when the FW and clutch was on the engine, but i could see the in put shaft was barely inside the spigot bearing ...

Looks good but as with anything fuel related dont cut corners. You can buy mitsi specific adaptors that convert the fuel rail to 6an fitting.
Most hose shops should sell them. Il try and find a pic later, they aren't expensive iirc

Kane, box was out of an unknown year b2600 ute, thats why im wondering as some of the later ones had an unusable input shaft from what ive read.

Bill, the input shaft splines were hitting on the bearing itself, the part which was supposed to sit in the bearing was fine, but seems that either the FW ...

B2600 input shaft problems

Well i trial fitted my b2600 box onto the engine without the clutch and FW on and had no problems, it all bolted up fine.
However once the clutch and FW were on, i kept ending up with around a 10mm gap between the bellhousing and the block.
I found out that it was the splined part of the input shaft ...

B2600 reverse switch in the way of trans tunnel

Hey guys

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so found a ...

Theres not really anything that "bolts up" to an evo block, that will handle any abuse whatsoever.
If you intend keeping the car it'd be well worth buying a custom bellhousing off Bill here, and running a R154 or if you don't have that budget, a w55 box or similar. Will handle alot more that the ...
