Love it man!! I just sold also a mint '86 Ram50 sport with 51K on it to a kid who doesn't/didn't know much of working on cars. (think he got frustrated and sold it :(


And another buddy of mine has a '89 Shelby Dakota, 5.2, 5spd, 2wd but it's RED..
I can't stand red.. He only wants 1200 for it but ...

Don't know if you got it made yet but..

What you could do (what I'm thinking of doing for my boat 'project')

Set you're oil pan on it's attaching face down on a flat surface and measure the highest level of any depression where a gasket will be. (About .5-1" above if you can)

Finally getting around to swapping this quest auto trans into my son's 86 ram50 to get an overdrive, and want to flush it out 'completely' including the torque converter.

So, I'm looking for a crankshaft flange from a bad 2.6 crank that bolts to the flexplate/flywheel so i can weld a bolt/nut to it ...

Just like it states. I put a Rochester 2-barrel on my '86 truck and used a quest
intake. Runs pretty well, gets about the same mpg as my Weber, better acceleration.

Well, the quest intake doesn't have enough room for the trucks f/p and had to make a
plug/plate that isn't working that well and ...

I went with a different 'route' on my 1-ton max. It's a '95 magnum 5.2/NV3500 and 'yota' hubs and rear axle (3.73) with the quest rims. I need to use it for a heavy load pulling mini-truck for my business

In this low mileage 86 ram50 that I have is the baby 904 trans that just isn't getting the mpg that I'm looking for. (like 14!!)
SO, I have a couple options.
1, 87 ram50 auto 4spd
2, 88 quest auto but the linkage is on the other side, and NO TV cable.. (but what looks like a after-market converter ...

Speedway motors out in Ca has several 'street rod' booster kits in a number of diameters.
I think they had a dual diaphram 7" And with 1 1/8" bore'd master cyl they sell, That's a LOT of fluid pushing.!

With your experience with Hondas, I thought you would've made a Acura 3.5 adapter to RWD gm trans by now.. (just a thought/hint. They rotate clock wise right?)

As in the second pic in your thread, What is the rough dimensions of the engine complete from manifold to manifold, and front of pulleys to rear?
Is that hole above the bell housing the water outlet of the engine ...

The Hornet is still 'simmerin' in the shop. I've got some projects that need to get put together and sold before I start back on it.

Looks promising! And that's gonna be a handfull once that turbo kicks in!

Since its' soo light, I think that the tires will break loose before things start breaking mechanically.. Especially with 14" tires.
I'd make sure you upgrade the U-joints and get a good synthetic gear lube.

Montero's are in the same Haynes Manual as the Mighty Max. They have the Same ratios.

Thats' why I mentioned the Yota.. Wider range of offerings, but i don't remember seeing anything numerically lower than 3.07.
