new to rwd swaps but not dsms

Post by 2.0L_turbo »

hey guys, i have been in the dsm comunity for many years and have built many high hp talons and eclipses and currently own 4 dsms. but as of lately i have been wanting to do something with an old motor i have lying around. wat i was wondering is will an older 5.0 mustang transmission bolt up to the 4g63 once a plate has been fabbed for it or are they not compatible. if not what would be the best transmission to do this? the car it is going into is a 1989 mustang hatch. thankls for any and all help

Mr. Bill is working on that bell-housing and should be done with it shortly.

Check out his threads..

I did it with the chevy adapter plate kit he offers (like the one in the FS area currently) with a lakewood adapter bellhousing

Theres the old thread, I still have the motor mounts, and the adapter bell housing. LMK if you might be interested, the mounts will work with a stock or aftermarket K-member and allows you to use the stock mustang trans, cross memeber and drive shaft. You will either have to make a rear sump oil pan or clearence the front K-member to clear the stock pan.
