AE86 Evo8 powered (SO CAL)

Post by 4g63tgsx »

I picked up this 86 For $600 with the intention of just canyon Running with it so i didnt need that much power but fate had it when my Buddy told me if wanted a Fully running evo 8 4g63 and  so i looked up the tranny options and i will be going with a W58 with the Help of Bill Hinchers Bell Housing The car will be running on the Stock Turbo With E85 For Drag runs Not Much Engine Work will Be going into it Since the car weighs in at 2000lbs or less.

I will Be participating in a lot of Track Events Maybe Some Drifting But it will be seeing some canyon Runs for Sure with my buddies E-85 Evo9 if you want to stay posted on any vids of this (not the build i will only take Pics of the progress) follow my You tube Channel http://www.youtube.com/user/4g63tgsx and Subscribe

INTAKE MANIFOLD
So Since i dont have the time or money for custom Manifold i just used the Original and my dad Reversed the throttle body it came out better then i would imagined

Image(Lighting sucks Sorry)
So i had a Spare 2g Manifold and since it had a longer neck we were able to cut it but i will be using the Evo throttle body Hopefully it Fits but it doesnt really matter i just didnt want to deal with all the Wiring

THE CAR:
86 Toyota Corrolla (AE86) SR5
I Somehow Managed to Blow up the Motor it was
the 4AC so it should make the swap a little easier then if it was the GT-S
Image

THE ENGINE:
the Engine Roughly Had less then 80k on it so it's still good always had the original Turbo and A reflashed ECU so it should be Making around 320CHP

Image

REAR END:
I Still havent really looked up much but it does have an LSD from the GT-S
but it will not hold that power for to long So if you have Any Suggestions Let me Know

Looks promising! And that's gonna be a handfull once that turbo kicks in!

Since its' soo light, I think that the tires will break loose before things start breaking mechanically.. Especially with 14" tires.
I'd make sure you upgrade the U-joints and get a good synthetic gear lube.

Is the 'yota a hydraulic clutch or cable?

I think that the older Celica's, Cressida's and Supras can donate the rear diffs too!
And plenty of support for gears and lockers/spools. It's just that the gears in the trans are pretty much set for you.. You'd have to dig the internet to see if gearing can be swapped out from other models to make a closer ratio with an over-drive 5th.

Keep going man. DON"T give up, but check out your local DMV for swapps and emissions so it will be worth it.

PS. you can even get antique plates for it.. HEEHEE

Look into an R series trans over a W series trans, much stronger.
