Pilot bearing?

Sounds like it could possibly be a locked up pilot bearing. I had one that was intermittently locking up on me that did the same thing, but I was able to force it to release by standing on the brakes.

Sounds like a tranny R+I is in your future.

yes but with this "aftermarket support" comes major hp rating upgrades short shifters and im talking about a world class t5 witch was put in the high powerd mustang cobra .. there is just no way a 4g63@600hp would beat that tranny more than a 302@600hp

If you have to buy all the aftermarket parts ...

What about today's coatings (ceramic mostly) that allow you to reflect the heat away from the top of the piston back into the combustion chamber?? Doesn't this help keep the piston assembly ...

Anyone find a way to "clock" the compressor to a different position on this turbo without "clocking" the center section???? I have one comming and I don't think the output side of the compressor is to my liking.

Sounds to me that you are just running the car hot. The Pressure is comming from the hot fluid expanding-- just like ti does in any other coolant system (aka-- thats why we have presure relieving coolant caps).

I searched on the net and found that after I made my post, thanks for the info. I still don't think I'll ever reuse a head gasket.. I do this for a living-- I only get paid to replace things once-- after that it's on me. I take that same thinking when working on my own stuff.

Use ARP head studs from this point on. Also, go ahead and get a Mitsubishi Multi-Layer Head Gasket. Those are 2 upgrades that can be reused if you ever need to take the head off again.

The stock head gasket is not re-useable and the head bolts can stretch. It will cost you $200 now, but will save ...

Before you put your allen or t-30 socket into the bolt, dip the head of the socket into valve lapping compound-- this will give it alittle more traction. If you are gonna hammer in anything oversized-- I would strongly recomend hammering in a T-30 (or w/e size is required) into the allen head first ...

I've seen some igntion swtiches cause this. The ignition feed while in the start postion fails, but is ok in the On positon.

The reason your voltage is droping is due to the high amperage draw the starter has while turning the motor over.

I just removed the P/s pump and bracket from my parts truck the other day. The pump mount does bolt to the RF (pass side) of the SOHC head. I have not looked at my DOHC head-- but If I remeber right there was not place for me to bolt this bracket to it.

The Pistons are .003 over, its a custom size so I could straighten out the cylinder, but not go .010 over and compromise the already thin bore/HG area. Also, they are the retarded strong 1400hd's with the optional think walled wrist pins.

The head has since been switched with a rebuild stock unit ...

Also, if you're looking for 2.4L engines, stick with the 7-bolt types. The 6-bolt does not have the main cap bracing that is part of the turbo engines.
