you have to have a cylinder head on hand to know which and where to drilll...
if you have an original SOHC 4G63 cylinder head gasket, you could compare the holes with the DOHC cylinder head.
you will want to use the SOHC cylinder head gasket.

4G63 SOHC --> DOHC pistons
Hi!
I'm going for this swap using a 4G63 SOHC turbo <Starion/JDM early Galant Turbo> block with a DOHC GVR4 head.
What pistons will I need to use?
Will the SOHC pistons fit and not have any clearance issues with the DOHC head and valves.
Thanks.

the vr4/evo blocks won't match
best bet is a rebuild or use the dohc head on the sohc block
uk's lancer register might be of help too...
cheers

i think the probable problem with the jay racing unit is that it sticks straight out and doesn't have enough flange-to-pulley clearance
prolly assumed that you won't use the power steering anymore

yup, been using this set up since 2000
the engine was NA (4G61), but very likely the same for turbo'd set ups
here are pics of my set up before the major paint job...

if i were to move the engine forward, based on 4g63migghtymax's set up, this would also move the transmission forward.
what would i need to do for the propeller shaft?
which would be better of these two options:

so two modifications are needed to use the front coolant exit, one is to open the second rear coolant passage in the head and head gasket to reverse the flow using Burnelli's laws and push the coolant forward and the existing front coolant exits must be closed off, but not all the way, an opening ...
