I bought a flywheel, all I really need to know is how far the crankshaft extends out of the back of the block

what evo are we talking about? the earlier ones (I~III) or the later ones(VIII~X)?

for the earlier ones you can refer to the 1G 4G63Ts

the 4 through 9's
my bellhousings for the 1 through 3's should be the same as the 4G63 narrow block

It has holes/lugs that can be used for mounts, but not 100% sure if they are the same as the DMS blocks, people have said that are but some rel confirmation would be useful.
I'll take some pictures and post them up of the E4 block, and hopefully someone can tell me if they are the same as the DSM blocks. :)

The Evo bolt pattern not only treats the 5 th upper mounting bolt as the Guide bolt , it also spaced the lower bolts out furthur apart then the wide block.

no the side mounts are no problem, the 5th guide pin is in the same place as the second gen 4g63 and the motor mount bolt holes have been removed from the front of the engine casting

now here is the question
The EVO flywheel is 7 bolt pattern and 11 1/2 inch wide

well, the clutch for EVO's are expensive and they are 'pull' type clutch

the flywheel bolt pattern should be the same as the second gen 4g63 flywheel

I like to use the same flywheel with the same crank, but would this be a win/win combination if we went to the smaller flywheel and the cheaper clutch?

It may be for some, though I'll be using a push multiplate clutch which is going to be easier to get a flywheel for in Evo format, there is a company in the UK that have supplied such clutches.

Good news RE the motor mount holes. :)

Bill Im using a push dual disc clutch to, is a (powertraintech) clutch so for
us is best to use evo flywheel.I just can chage the disc for a supra disc and keep using the same clutch

okay, so we all agree on the EVO 4 through 9 flywheel, now I gotta know about the starter

Is the starter gear located directly between the starter mounting holes and is it the same starter as the 4G63?

the drawings are done and I have started the pattern, but this wil only be for the R 154, the cost woud be well below below what you are paying
I am focused on finishing a run for the narrow block R 154 right now
anybody got a pic with measurements on the EVO clutch fork/pivot ball ?
