It's always easier to swap in what was originally in there in the first place. Lots of things to consider when swapping in a different engine. Do you have the skill level, tools to complete the swap, parts, electrical knowledge. Lots of factors to consider

You can use a die grinder, grind a groove in the crack and weld it. I did it on mine and drove it for years with no issues. It was the same exhaust manifold as what you have

Does be have 12v while you are cranking the starter? If not then your fuel pump will not run at that time.

Are you still using your Datsun ignition switch? If so you need a switch with a reference voltage for your ecu

I believe there is another power wire to power up the other side of the relay to supply current to the pump during cranking. It's been so long I don't quite remember. If your current setup is like what I had. As soon as you stop cranking you hear the fuel pump power up

I just put a stock turbo talon pump in. Easy peesy. If it can flow enough for a turbo motor, it flows enough for the na motor

(2) yes, use your transmission, mounts and axles
(3) yes
(4) yes
(5) yes, I believe you need the 4g63 power steering belt as well. It's been a while. Don't remember
(6) yes use yours. All élantra engines that I have seen use the big intake ports

Get a 4g63, use the 4g61 transmission and axles. 4g61 harness. 4g63 injectors and fuel rail. 4g61 ecu. 4g61 alternator belt is too short. Need the 4g63 belt. I kept the power steering and ac. If you have the earlier front double wishbone suspension you have to fabricate the oil pan and pick up tube. Newer front strut suspension model Stellars have front sump engines. Hope that helps.

i had a 4g64 sohc motor bolted to the km119, it holds up good as long as you dont drive the car like ass. as in dumping the clutch at redline all the time. i had this setup for about ten years

It does have the same frost plug at the front of the 2nd gen head. i bought a jay racing t housing and it was giving me interferance issues with the stock waterpump so i decided to go a different route. but it can be tweeked to work if you so do wish. has to go on an upward angle to avoid the ...

yes it is critical to keep each cap in its original location, i have heard of people that have had seized cams because of this. hell i even put pushrods and lifters, rockers in its original place on any motor to prevent any sort of problems.

i just used the dohc pump on mine with the original pulley. i made the pipe for the lower rad hose so i wouldnt have to modify anything when it comes to repairs, need a pump just get the original and install and go for a drive. simplicity is what i am striving for

oh and the stellar is basically an mk4 ford cortina underpinnings with a mitsubishi drivetrain, you get the nice double wishbone front suspension with that set up
