What flywheel?
Okay, just wanted to be sure before I made a purchase that I'm getting the right combo.
I have a 4G64, wide block, 7 Bolt, but it didn't come with a flywheel, and I am bolting to my stock Conquest transmission. I'm pretty sure from reading, that I can use either the FWD or the AWD DSM flywheel (7 ...

Yeah, the .5mm difference in bore size gives it that little bump in displacement. Since a 4G64 would have to be bored out .5mm, I guess they aren't true "drop-in" fit, but it would be a non-issue on a re-build since the block would probably go to the shop for oil squirters, balancing, etc. anyways ...

New 4G64 piston option?
I found these pistons on ebay, and discovered the 4G69 engine at the same time, (which I didn't know existed). It seems like these would be perfect drop-ins for a 4G64 conversions. 22mm pin, 87mm bore, and 100mm stroke. These ones even have teflon coated skirts. About half the price of forged ...

There was only one year and one specific model of 4G64 that was DOHC. The 1994 Mitsubishi Galant GS, however, any DOHC from a DSM will fit onto a 4G64 block with some minor modifications. You have to know what your are looking for to make your swap viable though, sensors and plumbing vary between ...

With the 96 Sonata pump, it seems that only the AWD DSM's need modification to the oil pan because of interference with the t-case, so us being RWD may not have that issue, as long as a 7 bolt, FWD, oil pan will clear ...

DJ,
Do you HAVE to use both the Crank and Cam sensor, or would you be able to just wire in the 95-96 Cam sensor (and weld the bungs to the head) to replace the 1G style?
For the crank sensor (if needed), how about using a 7 bolt oil pump on a 6 bolt block, since it has the necessary bungs for the ...

Will this bell housing work on a Nissan T5 out of an 85 300zx? As far as I have read, it is the same T5 as used in Camaro / Mustang, with a different Input shaft, so I would assume so with the right flywheel / clutch cmbo, but just wanted to check and see. I've had this Nissan T5 taking up space in ...

He's climbing in your window, hes snatchin' your posts up.
This is a pretty much just an introduction post. I've been lurking on P0G since I got my Conquest a year ago. I noticed alot of people on the board live in Colorado so I finally bit the bullet and signed up. I live in Colorado Springs and my 86 Conquest is in disrepair mechanically, but I have a ...
