Need advice on Mighty Max 6-bolt vs a 7-bolt

Post by AustinTSI »

So I made a $100 deposit on a wrecked 93 Mighty Max thinking it was a 6-bolt wideblock. Now I finally figure out that it is going to be a 7-bolt since it is a 93.

* Can I still do the starion swap with the 4g63 DOHC head?
* Did the block or crank change on the 4G64 from the 6-bolt to the 7-bolt?
* Is there anything else that I would need to be concerned about with the 93 ?

Thanks for any input, David.

With 7 Bolt engines, crankwalk is always an issue to be aware of. Most people in the DSM community purposefully avoid building 7 bolts because of this.

95 and 96 were the notorious years for this, otherwise this is misinformation.
