This is a pretty much just an introduction post. I've been lurking on P0G since I got my Conquest a year ago. I noticed alot of people on the board live in Colorado so I finally bit the bullet and signed up. I live in Colorado Springs and my 86 Conquest is in disrepair mechanically, but I have a freshly rebuilt 1G DOHC head, 2.4L DOHC cam gears and timing belt cover, and am looking for the 2.4 Wideblock to complete the swap (well the rotating assembly anyways). I have owned 6 DSM's so this moving to the 4G64 platform will put me back into my element (Not a fan of the G54B).
I thought I'd add some content to my first post and mention that I've searched the forums and nobody has ever mentioned the way that RRE addressed the Cam Angle Sensor when swapping a 1G head onto the 95-96 Eclipse/Talon. They welded bungs on the Cam side of the head, had them surfaced and reused the 95-96 CAS. This is how I plan to deal with it (especially since the 2.4L Gears already have the timing plate integrated). Seems a lot more simple than fighting with the CAS on the opposite side of the head.
If you live in the area and want to get together or are getting together shoot me a PM and Ill see if I cant join the party... lol
