HOLY MOTHER OF #$@%$# it's BACK!

Good job on reviving the Dream.

Been a year or so since I posted anything on my project but give all a little update:

Original car was an '87 Conquest TSI, pretty much mint without an engine

Now it's 350Z Daytona Blue with a 4G63 (7bolt) and a Might Max/Starquest tranny hybrid. Since then I've ...

Under 5K including the cost of the car. Engine was a freebie and the labor and machinist hours are also freebies.

It's not the HP numbers I'm interested in, but the torque. I know it's easy to fudge numbers on a dyno and that it even get more complicated with engine and inertial dynos. But lets face it, that little Samurai has gots to have ridiculous amounts of torque!

Lets see if I can't shed some light on the subject.

There's basically two 2.4 configurations available (both are narrow block configurations). One uses a mitsu 4G64 block and the other a hyundai G4CS block. The main differences in the two are the rod ratios. The G4CS has a higher ratio which ...

I personall have no intention on retaining any of the stock guages minus the speedo and fuel level. I'ld install:

Tach
Boost
EGT
Oil pressure
Water Temp.

If your trying to step away from electrical gremlins, then I wouldn't dare venture putting more DSM parts in than I have to  I drive one ...

Do you think Mr. Plebani would be so kind enough to enlighten us?

As for the supra tranny check here: <a href='http://rz-products.com/w_adapter/w_adapter.html' target='_blank'>Supra tranny conversion</a>

I received word a few days back that development would begin again on these. Something to ...

True about the price, but then again I own a DSM as well  It crosses over with a few connections.

Not sure what u mean about the 2G DSM wiring. It's still a 1G wiring harness that has had the pinouts resoldered to match the 2G pinouts. I'll dig up some info.

Slightly off on the 2.4 mark. Using the 4G64 with the 4G63 head throws the rod ratio way out of whack. So much that it requires milling of the block to make clearance for the rod and crank. Magnus uses a version that involves custom rods and acutally increases the rod ratio.

The proper 2.4 block ...

Yep, you gots it. . . I'm a huge fan of things that flip and light up :P

I feel safer running the newer harness b/c I'm not doing a straight 1G ECU. I've soldered on the pin outs for a 2G ECU so I can use the '95 Eprom I have and DSM link. Basically it's a chip conversion that makes the ECU a ...

Well the '90 and '91-94 ECUs differ, but I believe the pinouts should be the same. The '95 and up have a completly different pinout.

I'm planning on stripping out the Quest engine wiring harness and just swap in the 1G harness. Are there any critical connections other than:

- power
- ground ...

I'll work on trying to explain the build through pics. Here's an overview. Assume everything is out and you have a bare D50 bell housing.

1) On the main shaft (side towards the extension housing) remove the two race bearings. Break the cages off of them ...
