One of the guys on the DSMLink board posted a ton of pictures for a swap he did (actually, I believe he's still putting finishing touches on the car). He did everything... even swapping the car to RHD.

emachineshop.com says they do castings. They even list engine blocks as an example. You would have to download their software (free) and design it yourself. I have no idea what their prices are like, but if they are reasonable, then it's probably the best bet for a top-mount cast manifold.

Like DJ said, I'm pretty sure solid lifters would be a must above around 9k. That would be my biggest concern. I also think the stock-sized valves would probably work better, as with high rpms, velocity is the name of the game.
As far as cams go, I'm not sure whether the solid lifters would require ...

In defense of the Magnus manifold, I drove a friend's 2g Eclipse with it and the driveability was fantastic. It was actually better than my small 16g with cams, but he was running a Hahn Super20g, stock cams, and I believe a 2g TB (I'm running a 1g). My car was quite a bit faster than his, so it ...

I know this is a bit after the fact to ask, but Mike, about the cam gears. I thought the Galant cam gears were the same as the 2.0 gears except that the key was half a tooth off? In other words, with a set of adjustable cam gears one could move them half a tooth and essentially have the stock 2.4L ...

So, your first point is reversion, right? It is easier for air to get in and thus easier for air to get out (the very reason why DOHC engines typically breathe better at high rpms and produce less torque at lower rpms) and making the valves bigger would hurt this, right? Well, I pretty much agree ...

DSM guys argued this point over and over for years. There were always the guys out there that said "oh a 2.4 will never be as good as the 2.0, its not a square engine, rod ratio is bad, etc etc."
Right, Mike, I completely agree. I wasn't arguing for one being better than the other. I simply think ...

If you're keeping it 2.0L, you don't need the 2.4L block. The 4g63 already has a pretty rev-happy stroke and 1.7 R/S ratio. The extra 6 or 12 mm of rod length would be a bit overkill... though if the engine LIVES at 10k and above, you will likely have better engine geometry for that rev range. If ...

Right. Smaller ports can flow almost as well as large ports but with greater velocity, which is my goal. The extra mixing caused by that should also help improve combustion "quality." At the very least, with the smaller ports there is more flexibility to control the size of the ports from as small ...

Hehe, crazy huh? Well, I prefer to think of it as "outside the box" but I don't blame you.
The reason I want to sleeve a 2.4L is because LA Sleeves makes good sleeves for cheap, and because I want to offset-bore the block. Actually, it probably could be done without the sleeves. But the sleeves are ...

4G64 FC3S (again)
Well, I was thinking about doing this a while back with my project RX-7. However, it kind of stalled and I was on track to building up the rotary.
However, I'm getting out of the Navy soon and I need to get the car back together to ship it back to the states. And now I'm thinking I might want to go ...

Ah, I get it. "This next shot shows through the rear radiator ducting straight through the firewall and out the front of the engine bay" That's what confused me.

I agree. Every rotary person I've ever talked to has always said that the TII tranny was the strongest tranny Mazda's ever put in an RX7, including the third-gen. I know the TII guys don't even think about upgrading their boxes at least until the 10-second range. In my opinion, it seems that these ...

Awesome, so the Starion flywheel will bolt right to the 4g64 crank? Does anyone make a lightweight flywheel for the Starion? I don't have to have an insanely light flywheel but I really don't want a heavy one either and I'm not hot about lightening stock flywheels. I love the increased effect on ...
