Hey Guys,

I have been into DSMs for about 5 years so I feel comfortable working on them. When my wife was wanting to have a turbo car to drive around in I decided an interesting project is dropping a 4g63 into the 240sx. I have one sitting in the yard with a blown tranny so I am in the process bringing it into the garage to see if it is do-able. I wanted to know if anyone thought about doing this?

It should be pretty easy. I'm doing the 240sx crossmember, so whatever mounts I make would be the same you'd need. The transmission crossmember and driveshaft would have to be made. It'd be pretty easy. Big issues: shifter location and clearing the brake booster. Might not be very big issues. We've got a million 240 parts chilling at the shop if you need something.

The 240 engine bay is bigger BTW.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

Cool. That is what I wanted to hear!! I will began to remove the motor/tranny and wiring from the car then began sourcing parts. When you get the mounting for you crosmember together let me know, I will be interested in buying some mounts from you or ideas on how to make by own.

Good luck. I am doing a 4G63 in my Datsun 510. The firewall is a major pain. But it can be done. Check my car out. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/1182829/1

What tranny are you going to use in the 240? I thought the KA tranny wasn't up to the task of handling a turbocharged motor?
