They could... if it was power that they wanted... "There's no replacement for displacement"

Take it apart and go from there.

i'm sure at some point they took it apart. but they ran a production class so they were limited to some strict guidelines. and this was back in the day when Mitsubishi ...

No I'm sorry you miss understood me, the WHOLE truck has 14k miles on it. Built brand new as a rally truck, was used for nothing but rally.

Do those guys do over sized pistons and bearings?

But that was my goal to get it all apart and see what I have.

Just noticed that it has the 93&up Grille with the 87-92 Steel bumper... Is that a 94 or a 95?

it's a 92, well at least that's what the title says. :D

this thing has been rebuilt many a times. been rolled twice i think. most of the front clip has been replaced.

and it just dawned on me that ...

wow, that was way cheaper then i thought it would have been.

even with the full bore everything and a oil pump it's not an arm and a leg.

and yeah, it's seen a hard life. was built new as a rally truck, won the 1995 SCCA national truck champion ship. currently only 14k miles on it. HARD effing ...

TECHNICALLY, i got a hold of you so i could put it all in a 1st gen rx7, :D

4g64 rebuild kits/parts

i just picked up a mighty max and i'm getting what i'm thinking is maybe some rod noise.

rather then wait for a rod to come through the side of the block, i'm thinking i'm going to try and be proactive and do a rebuild on it, at least the bottom end of things.

nothing fancy, some bearings, a ...

i tell you what, if for even a moment you start talking about rear end swaps and are going to go through all the work of making a new axle fit, and have brakes, and all those good bits.

take 2 mins and look at the toyota 4x4 rear axle. I just got done swapping one into a 1st gen rx7. you can get ...

i basically have the same question about making a 4g a rear sump.

but i'm not getting what you're saying about getting a pan from a ford 351. are you saying to graft on the pan and use the oil pick up from the ford. or am i just missing your point completely

Any idea if Bills t56 bell housing would work with a t5

i mean sure you ask yourself, why they hell would he want a t5 over a t56.

well a full dog boxed t5 can be had for around $1500, and that's using a stock housing which are a dime a dozen.

but it was just a thought when a buddy and me were talking race cars today. i told him i knew of a t56 bell ...

if there is really no difference other then maybe some smoothed out castings or something simple like that i'll take it. what i'm hoping is he didn't massively improve it in later castings, because at that point it would be worth the extra $100.

i'll PM you

NA DOHC 4g63 swap onto 4g64 mighty max questions

So I have been doing a lot of reading about swapping turboed 4g63s into everything but i had some questions about doing a NA 4g63 head onto a 4g64 block.

OK so from what I read it works just fine.

So I'm assuming the NA swap is similar to the turbo swap, well with out the turbo any ways. where ...

anyone offer the service of tearing down a 4g63 harness

i'm big into the old subaru world and the older legacys share the same idea as the 1st gen dsm, the engine has it's own harness and once you get the rest of the BS out of the way it's a simple plug in everything, add constant power here, and keyed power here, and ground here, and start power here ...

ok so excuse my stupidity as i am learning about this process but at a slow pace, in the mighty maxes i have read that either you have to clearance the fire wall or move the engine forward a few inches. does this eliminate needing to do that or what is the benefit of the 90 degree water outlet

WTB starting to collect what i need to 4G63 RWD

i seem to be the last guy to learn about the ability to take a 4g63 and make it RWD fun. i just picked up a mighty max and have been really looking to put in 4g63 and have some turbo fun.

this is my list of stuff that i would like to pick up so far

RWD intake
r154 Billhousing and tranny
