I don't see why not?

Anything is possible.. There should be enough room depending on front/rear sump compatibility.

Fitment issues is already been taken care of, my most concern is the engine rotation intake is on the passenger side and exhaust on the driver side thats 4age toyota original motor.4g63t is the opposite direction .So would that matter on a rear diff?

I think you are asking if which side the intake is matters compared to the rear end. No, but you have to contend with a brake booster.

Check this guys swap, it may help you.

What are you trying to do ??

Do you want a drag car, track car, autocross car, etc.

The d50 is widely available for cheap at least. If you don't need an independant rear there's no reason not to use it. This is if you can fit it.

I would try to work with the stock rear first if possible. I think that rearend has several gear and limited slip options.

this is gts ae86 specs Rear Differential: 6.7" Open (T282) or optional LSD (USA Only) (T283) with 4.30:1 Ratio, 2-pinion. I have the LSD rear diff. specsTRANSMISSION
Code: T50
Type: 5-speed manual
GEAR RATIOS:
1st: 3.587
2nd: 2.022
3rd: 1.384
4th: 1.00
5th: 0.861
Reverse: 3.48
Final Drive: 4:30:1
Clutch-Type LSD

D50 TYPES OF DIFFERENTIALS
All trucks 79-96 came with what Mitsubishi would call a 8inch differential in the rear
GEAR RATIOS
D50/MMs came with 3 different possible gearing options
3.545 used in certain 2wd trucks let you achieve optimal fuel mileage
3.909 most common gear ratio used in about our trucks most 4x4 came with them for sure
4.222 rarely seen in the D50/MMs only seen so far in 4x4s so far primarily seen in Dodge Raiders/Mitsubishi Monteros
4.625 never came in the trucks only seen in the Monteros/Raiders swaps into our housings
KM132 Gear Ratios
Car 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th
D50 Truck 3.369:1 2.035:1 1.360:1 1:1 .856:1
Starion (KM132-M-CNL) 3.369:1 2.035:1 1.360:1 1:1 .856:1
So if some one has a extra yoke for d50 transmmision im in need of one pls let me know.

i tell you what, if for even a moment you start talking about rear end swaps and are going to go through all the work of making a new axle fit, and have brakes, and all those good bits.

take 2 mins and look at the toyota 4x4 rear axle. I just got done swapping one into a 1st gen rx7. you can get spools, lockers, lsds, after market axles, gear sets from mid 3s to over 5 at around $130. it's HEAVILY supported in the after market. I actually swapped in a toyota 4x4 rear axle into a mistu mighty max just because there was nothing in the after market for the mitsu.

and my whole thinking on the thing was, these axles are meant to sit under a truck that is 4000+lbs and live for a few hundreds of thousands of miles. It's going to have a very easy life under a 2200lbs rx7.

just my 2 cents.
