so i finally made some progress on this install but im having some problems...i decided to move the engine forward 2" after all since i didn't like the fact that everything was so tight but for the life of me i can't get the motor brackets to sit on the mounts right. i included some pics to show ...
it looks like im going to be able to install the r154 without moving the engine forward. there's one more spot i need to bang in more but i'll have some pics tomorrow of what i got so far.
77amc: no the ac lines will have to be custom made wich really isnt a big deal. there are a few places that can do that locally by me so it should be a small issue.

i finally got a chance to start test fitting everything...you're right, im going to have to hammer the crap out of the tunnel; i marked where it needs to be banged in.

I have a question in regards to shimming. I am going to be putting an act 2600 pressure plate with a act 6 puck toyota clutch. On my dsm awd tranny I had to shim it to get it to work.
Bill or anyone else: Do you think I am going to have to shim with this new style bellhousing? Or do I just need ...
I promised Cali to have his intake done and I sold some bellhousings for the W 55 to some customers that ordered the wrong housing for the R154 so I had to get that in the r 154 casting before I could finish the T 56 , I am not that far away from it , I am just overloaded >;o(
i got my r154 bolted up and ready to be dropped into the car as soon as i adjust the tranny tunnel. remeber boys and girls DONT FORGET TO SHORTEN THE INPUT SHAFT OR YOU WILL BREAK THE EAR OFF THE BLOCK! bills bell is stronger than the cast iron block incase anyone was wondering.
im actually buliding a 2g dsm motor...well, the motor is ready just working on the rest of the car. (it's a 2.3 stroker, fully built) it came out of a 95 gsx. i actually got lucky because it does have the cam sensor in the front but the block at some point was replaced with a 98+ split thrust ...

looks real good. sorry if i missed it, but what would be the benefit of using the interal bearing instead of the regular ol' fork setup? or are you not offering a fork setup on this bh?
I was searching the Marlin Crawler website and found something that looks like it will greatly help those wanting to use electronic speedometers when completing a Toyota tranny swap. Check out the VSS at the very bottom of this link .

you open a second hole in the rear of the head but be careful to aviod the EGR passage, leave the existing rear hole alone
I think the allen screws were 1/4 inch
this might be dumb but how deep into the head do you drill?
I'll do some searching too, but it's my understanding that the EVO ECU has the same plug-ins as the 2G harness. If you don't have an EPROM 2G ECU, this is a great option. I'm not sure if there are any other differences, but I've heard of guys running this as well. Got any links to make the searches ...
