drive shaft question.

ok im getting to the point where i need a drive shaft made. im running the r154. what am i going to need. just a toyota yoke and the starion shaft. i dont wanna call the driveshaft shop and sound like a tard when i can do it over the net.

no while installing the tranny i found my motor to have crankwalked. not bad for 800 miles and it IS a REBUILT 6 bolt arp bottom end hardware clevite 77 bearings eagle rod weisco slugs. asshole machinest's suck! i have to pull it apart and see if the crank is fucked then ill take it from there

SO does that chew up the rods also? I've heard of some machine shops 'dimpling' the backside of the thrust bearing in several places to raise or close up the tolerance. Like say you have an old engine that parts are really scarce.
I e ven got a 265 chevy that was shimmed on the rods to tighten them up.

It had over 65K miles on that engine.. :shock:

thrust play in the crank. when i tugged on the flywheel to get it off i felt a clunk. so i pushed on the crank and pulled it again and felt the clunk again. thats crankwalk. i never heard of anyone ruining their rods but you can definetly kill the crank and block if it gets bad enough. im thinking its time for a 2.3
