I have heard cometic head gasket would be the best way to go. They are the best I hear

I think an oem compostite gasket and some arp studs will suffice for an na build, unless you just want to blow the extra money on an mls hg.

it could be overkill but if it was me, I would be doing all I could to make sure my gasket doesn't blow in the future. Just had to fix the father in laws head gasket on a van. I know it wasnt the gaskets fault, but it blew too easily.

Thats just me, I like overkill :wink:

I just don't see a high comp 2.4's cylinder pressures peaking any higher than a stock 4g63t at stock boost levels and the composite hg's hold up to this for 100k+ miles.

But, I too am a guy who tends to do overkill, so I guess it all depends on your budget and how flat you have the head and block sealing surface as a composite hg is more forgiving than the mls :wink:

a dealer composit gasket will hold over 20 psi on stock head hardware. if you go over 25 on a bad tune you will most likley stretch the factory bolts. id say you would be fine with even a felpro and stock bolts
