Well, I've put about 35 miles or so on the car. The exhaust is quieter that I thought it would be. I like it that way. I had to make some clearance to stop rattles. But other than that it has been very uneventful. Lets hope it stays that way.

Jeff, The water pipe is something I made. I used about 4-6" of the section that comes from the back of the water pump. I made it turn 90deg. You can see it in the pics. The black pipe behind the alternator.

I fired the car Sunday. No coolant, so it run for 10-15 seconds. I will try some water and maybe a heat and cool cycle. I want to be on the road this weekend. I will post a vid by this weekend. I'm just waiting for the rain to stop.

I still have the 510. I got it back from the guy I sold it to. It will be put back together with a KA24E instead. But that is for a later date. :wink:

The shifter is an "S3" from celicasupra.com. It fits w58 and r154 transmissions.

I am working on the wiring for my car and noticed in the wiring section that the solenoids are crossed off. Do you guys not use them? I was going to use them in my car, but it would look alot cleaner without them. Is there a problem with check engine lights or driveability with out the feul pressure ...

The car came with an aluminum case W58, but I will not be using that transmission. I have an R154 with bill's bellhousings.
The engine and trans will be going in this weekend. I will post updated pic soon after.

Thanks...my Celica and the Supras 82-85 all had the W58. The R154 only came in the MKIII 86-92 Supra Turbos. I hope I made the right decision to use the R154. I have read that it is not as smooth shifting as the W58. We will see.

4G63/4everything, Don't be fooled, I feel it is a lousy fit. If the engine mounts and crossmember were not finished, I would have made a new trasmission tunnel. To move the transmission up.

The resolution is not the best, but here you go. A buddy of mine at work showed me how to do it. The abs speed sensor is low and drivers side of the trans. Hope this helps.

The speed sensor on the R154 is actually an abs speed sensor. I work for a Toyota Dealership. I have access to some wiring diagrams. I do not know how to post them. I can fax them to you, or email.

I have to double check to be 100% but I believe they are 175#. I am still going to use the modded stock manifold. Check the pic for an idea of how tight it is. I think it will work though.

The only clearance issues I have is the master cylinder. All I did was cut the bleeder screws off flush. I wanted the engine back as far as it is to help balance the car. Maybe its all in my head, but I figured it couldn't hurt.
As far as suspension goes, I have GC coil-overs in front with stock ...

The port is a bleeder to help "bench" bleed the unit. It is harder to bleed it without it. But it can be done. I just tightened the bleeder screw tight and chopped it off. No leaks and plenty of clearance.

The ECU uses the signal to know when to car is moving. What does with that signal I have no clue. That was part of the TMO chip upgrade. I don't know why they did it that way. All I know is that the check engine light was not set to come on if the sensor was bad from factory. The TMO chip has it set ...

What are you guys doing about the speed sensor? Or should I call it a reed switch that is in the speedo. I have an old TMO chipped ecu and it turns the check engine light on as where the stock ecu does not, when the sensor goes bad. I tore apart the stock DSM speedo and removed the sensor. Any ideas.

YES YES YES pre 88 stuff. Sorry I forget the 88-89 clutch is bigger. I meant 225mm stuff. That is what I used. It fits the splines and the FWD flywheel perfect. You are exactly correct. A 240mm dick WILL NOT fit a 225mm flywheel.
