Fuel pressure and evap solenoid ???s

Post by jelliott510 »

I am working on the wiring for my car and noticed in the wiring section that the solenoids are crossed off. Do you guys not use them? I was going to use them in my car, but it would look alot cleaner without them. Is there a problem with check engine lights or driveability with out the feul pressure solenoid?
What do you guy do?
Any thoughts?
My ecu and wiring is 1990.

Solenoids are not necessary. I have also removed the FIAV wiring from my project as it is of no use. Most of these were attempts at being emissions compliant I think.

I'm also working on making a new wiring diagram for everyone. I have had a long road in getting my wiring sorted, so I thought I would try and make it a little easier on everyone else. Let's see how long it takes me to get this thing done.

Jeff is right. You can remove the two solenoids and their associated wiring. Not having them will not cause a CEL. I have been driving my 4G63 powered truck for ~ 4 years now without them, and I even legitimately passed multiple Massachusetts (read: tough) emissions tests without them.
