A typical tranny adaptor plate will cost you $300-$500. Plus, you will have to figure out clutch and starter (since plate will add extra space). What is the point of investing all that effort into a crappy tranny?
If you are going to go through the trouble of adapting a tranny, get something good ...

I have seen way too many failed 4G63 "rebild jobs"... unless I know and trust the builder AND the machine shop that does the machining. I would take a 100k miles "junk yard motor" over some random rebuilt motor.
My point, do not rebuild 4G63T, unless it needs it! It is hard to build it better than ...

Thats not just CA, thats any car in general. You can not legally remove OR DISABLE an emission device that is on the emission label under your hood. You can be fined up to $25,000 per vehicle (or maybe per device-- not sure) for this if the EPA so chooses to mess with you. The only exception I can ...

I'm pretty sure the 2.0 Starions were all wideblocks. Not sure where you guys are hearing otherwise.
That information was quite old  Back in the mid 90's I talked to a DSMer from Australia (on Talon Digest) about 2.0L Starions. We both thought that such tranny would work for RWD conversion ...

The first photo is your charcoal canister. It is a vent for your gas tank and it is mainly there for emissions control (fuel vapor). Many enthusiasts get rid of it, but then you must decide what to do with your gas tank vent. You can ether vent it out (that will cause fuel smell) or plug it up (this ...

Bill, you will be hard pressed to find a DSMer running a functionning EGR system since the mid '90's (myself included) and I am yet to hear about any problems with it.

Theoretically, you are correct, Bill. But there are other factors:
The "narrow" feature of the "narrow" engine has not been a problem for anyone, so it is a non-issue. My problem with "wide" blocks is that you MUST start by rebuilding an engine, which automatically adds $1000-$3000 to your project ...

The narrow block is okay , but the wide block has a taller block and allows the use of longer rods for the higher horsepower levels, so its to the builders advantage to build the wide block with
