I haven't updated this. I've been too busy driving and enjoying the car after waiting almost 12 years to drive it. I've had some issues along the way with getting it to run right and handle right. Currently the motor is out for some cleanup. I'm also trying to track down an issue with driveability ...

More pics to come soon, but thought I would drop a line to say my car is fully registered and passed smog in Nevada. I even got my custom plate that reads 4G6351O.

Water Pump Pulley
My car is finally up and running out terrorizing the streets. However, I took a peek today and noticed that my water pump pulley seems to be wobbling. The stock pulley sits on top of the power steering pump pulley to space it out and line up with the crank and alternator pulleys. I basically made a ...

It's been a while since my last update. The car runs and drives. i've put about 2.5 miles on it going up and down the street. I'm upgrading to speed density this week because my MAF doesn't like how it's mounted.

High Coolant Temps
I've finally got my car running and taking a few short trips up and down the street to get ECMLink some time with the car. Unfortunately my trips have been cut short lately due to high coolant temps. Further complicating the issue is the fact that the radiator is ice cold. My temp gauge and the ...

Saturn Alternator amp draw
After my swap, I noticed I was getting a dead battery within a day or two even though it was putting out the required power when running. I did an amp draw test and found a 4.5 amp draw from the alternator "sense" wire hooked up the alternator "F" post. Disconnecting it gets rid of the draw, but ...

I've been fighting a mess of wires trying to track down why it wouldn't start. Finally after offering a $100 reward, a friend stopped by to help out. My CAS is good. All the testing I did helped me to understand what was going on, but the whole issue was a bad connector. The wiring tested good, but there was a bent pin that did not allow the signal to be sent to the ECU causing all of my frustration. A friend spotted it and it now runs. #4G63510 ...

I'm officially wrong about everything. The MPI relay was triggering just as it should. The fuel pump does not fire with the key on, only during the crank and while running. I know this because #4G63510 officially started today. It ran briefly before a skyrocketing idle forced me to shut it down, but ...

There are 2 power wires from the ignition. One is for run, BW, and the other is for start, BY. I believe you're talking about the BY wire that goes to the starter solenoid. I believe it does cut power to that part of the relay, but I still can't figure out why it doesn't work.

CAS testing? No spark/no fuel
I have no spark and no fuel. Fuel pump works and pressurizes the system. The engine turns over. 12v is present on all appropriate wires and grounds are good. This is what I've done to test the CAS itself:

MPI Relay not triggering
I'm in the final stages of getting my Datsun 510 project #4G63510 running and have hit a road block. The first issue is the MPI relay not triggering properly. I might also have some issues with not getting a signal from the CAS and that in turn sending a signal to get spark and fuel, but let's ...

Yes, a 2.1L is a 4G64 block with 4G63 crank. (2.4L block/2.0L crank) There is a stamped number on the block just under the water pipe near the water pump. If it's a 2.4L block it will be stamped as 4G64.

Fuel Pump Wiring
Well, I'm getting to that point and need some clarification. I thought the BW wire from the ECU and MPI Relay sent power to the fuel pump, but I want to make sure I'm getting enough power. The old DSM trick was to put a dedicated power wire to the fuel pump with a relay near the pump. Is this still ...

I personally think the front end looks to long and "heavy". Maybe you can move that grill back toward the motor more and possibly section it to be smaller. I know it's a lot more work, but I think it will look much better.
Other than that, I think the front end looks cool. Keep up the great progress.
