Sorry for the late response,lol I googled my screen name and found this post. I was using a n/a Ecu and 2.4 injectors. If I can remember correctly the motor just didn't make any power in the higher rpm. It had tons of power where I needed it so I didn't do anything to try and fix it.

i all most threw out my elbow tring to turn it over with the plugs in.

they should be the same. i have a 1.8 head and i have looked at the two side by side. they look the same.
my n/a had 240 p.s.i of compression. it was a chore to turn it over with the spark plugs in.

i use a tappered reamer when i put npt fittings stainless. i dont know what size they are. i will look.

im two out of four (motors/races).

plus i ran into my buddy and wrecked the front end. im going to fix the bodywork and put the stickers on it. the next race is on the 18th and im going to the quater mile.

yesterday i started my car to unload it at the track. when it started there was a loud tick/knock. long story short, the timing belt jumped and that loud noise was valve slap. i put the timing back and the car ran like nothing happened.

in the heat race it jumped time agian. i had like 30 min ...

dont water cool it. i have seen turbos that should be water cooled, but werent. the turbos held together a couple of years (mind you it was an ebay junk yard deal).

there is not much piston to valve clearance. i did put knoches in the pistons for valve relief. i have more than .050 clearance. i dont know the # off the top of my head.

im going to go talk to a new local dyno shop and see if i can get a sponser. they have to tuneing tools i need.

i finally got it to go around the corner. i was pulling to 6k in third gear. thats about 78 mph. the car is really fast.

i turned an 18.09, the next fastest on the track is 18.85.

i have three weeks off, so theres some more tuning to do so i can go left faster ...

bill i think you should make every part of this kit avaible, second make it easy for people to find the extra parts they will need.

i understand that, but i was wonder the difference between the stock cam profiles.

i can not use aftermarket cam gears. and i have no money for anything else. i have stock parts. so i have to build and make this motor run great with stock parts.

the revlimit should be at 7500. the motor has turned 7000, but it did not like it. the 6k revlimit came when i disconnected the maf.

i think smog got it right. the cams are for the 2.0. the 2.4 needs more air and the cams can not keep up the with the demand of the 2.4 lower end.

i was thinking that the motor would run just like the 2.0 would, just with more power.

i would not think the stroke would stop the motor from makeing power up high. i know about rod ratios and stroke, friction loss and all of that good stuff. but turning the lower end 1000 rpm to 1500 rom faster ...

this last weekend i was able to make a couple of laps. so to test one idea about running out of air i disconnected the maf. the car ran good on the track, besides the fact it hit a revlimiter at 6k......duh.....

i was going to take more test laps, but it started to rain. so now i can try some more ...

when i first said compound forced induction i ment supercharger/ turbo. like a detroit deisel. and that is not silly, that is how they are made. it is a two stroke deisel.

i dont see 60k in this car, but i know that shit adds up. i a local guy start his own shop (phils race cars) i do belive that is the name. the last i saw he was building a 6 second s10. the rear end alone was 10k. the seat he made was sent out and made into carbon fiber.

i used 2.4 cam gears. they are timed right by the marks, i thought it was cam timing, but the marks line up.

maybe the injectors out of the 4g64 are not 275cc, i thought for sure that they would help, but they did not.

timeing. the book calls for 5 degres, the motor sounds great about 7 degres ...

my na 2.4 race car makes no top end power. it has mad power from idol to about 6000. after 6000 it just feels like im just hurting it to push it farther. i tried and it will only turn 7000. and it did not want to, but i made it.

look on craigslist in seattle. i know a guy that has like 8 starions in shelton. he has them listed on cragslist as parting out.

you need to look at gear ratios.

if a starion does something like 3000 rpm at 70 in 5th gear, well think about it.

sorry i did not update. i got it tore part and put back together. it only cost some bearings. the dumbass who put it together put a bearings in wrong. so i got it fixed and made it to the race last sunday.

the block came from a truck that hit a tree in the front. the head i got from ebay. im selling the block and crank.(main caps in order). the head is complete. i do have a valve cover that is not in the pics

lol, sorry for not being more descriptive, but i forgot there are stupid ppl. out there. i took it forgranted that smart ppl size there turbos to there power goals.

i have seen huge turbos on civics that push 8 psi and spool a 4500. lol.

well in most cases big hp is caused by big turbos. big turbos normaly take longer and/or more rpm to spool.

i would gear it up for gas mileages. just cruiseing on the free way. my talon is geared way to low for what i want. how lond do you think it would take to spool at 2500 in a 350whp 2.0 or a 2.4? what about 1.5 seconds longer.
