My uncle is an amazing welder and he didn't want to go near my exhaust manifold. Most welders say that welding cast iron never turns out well, and if it does, not for long.

I am seeing more holes on the head than the gasket has. Those little slits right around the cylinder of the head,there are 6 of them. what are they for? the slits are not on the block.

I used Scat rods and they seemed fine. Be sure to inspect everything though even though its new just be be sure they're quality is up to par.

No clue about CP pistons. Would they even offer an 87mm bore that would work for a 4G64 with a DOHC head?

You will need to speak to a machinist (or a few) and explain to them the specifics and they will have a pricelist for common jobs and should be able to give a quote for oddball things like oil squirters.

Required in most cases

Hone (bore if necessary)
Polish Crank (turn if necessary)

After dealing with the Quest I've come accustomed to having a msm for any work needing to be done. I do have the electric manual with all the 4g engines in it but prefer something dedicated to the 4g64.
