far as I know its totally unlawful to do such a thing !

Its not so bad that you cut off the back outlet, I mean, after all, your just changing direstions
Image
but you should try to hide what you did by making it look factory
Image
If you want a different throttle body, that would be a good time to change the manifold
Image
Then you have to know how much angle you want the throttle body to be

But, If you wanted to drop by and weld it yourself , and sign a disclamer that says you are only gonna race this car ,I would let you for about $100 bucks. and then I will ship it back to you

I wish I could move the plenum a little forward to clear the master cylinder, I will probably build one soon enough but I have to find out what the legalities are

You can sell them as race manifolds. There are quite a few companies that sell intakes for the 4G63. (Magnus, JMF, BJ's, Venom, Buschur, Dejon) You might also contact companies like Edlebrock that make aftermarket SMOG legal manifolds for Honduhs and such.

I'm looking to have mine modded for RWD too, but want the egr left intact. Gives me the choice of using it or not with a block off plate.

The only real reason to keep the EGR is for cold starts. It's supposed to help with emissions too, but why would you want dirty exhaust gas in your intake? If you hook up the coolant lines on the throttle body, it will work just as well as if you kept the EGR port.

the EGR would be easy to work into the system, I can route the passage in with no problem.
The EGR system only works when the engine is warmed up and only under cruise conditions, its not going to cost you any power under load
NOx is formed in an engine when the gas burn temperature in the cylinder head reaches 2500 degrees, the EGR recirculates exhaust gas into the combustion chamber through the intake manifold to lower the oxygen content and reducing the engines ability to produce heat. This only happens because you are burning such a lean fuel mixture @ 14.75 air to fuel level. If you are setting your engine up for power @ 12. air to fuel levels, all bets are off and no EGR is needed nor would it work

hey Bad dude, post us some pic's :D

there is only one way to build a hot rod, get the title to the car that you have the engine from and the title to the body of the car you will be putting it in, now take the title down to the liscense bureua and declare you are modifying the car by more then 50%, make sure and take most of your reciepts with you, they will take your reciepts and declare that as the value of the car and have you pay sales tax on that value and will re issue you a new title as a homebuilt ' builders' car in that current year , you are allowed to build up to 25 cars per year before you need to comply with emmission control laws
I have built many , many cars like that and recieved a current year title from the stateof Michigan and Ohio
