Very unique injector problem (update 2-26 w/vids)

In my own 87 Starion when the O2 failed it went lean, Way lean. I had to unplug it to drive home.
There are cars that do not like a fuel meter sharing the O2 sensor, I have run an old Hallmeter on three of my Starions so I would not jump there yet.
Some meters will mess with the impedance in the circuit.

theres your problem right there. dump that piece of shit and go stand alone if you have to. i tried for MONTHS to get that motherfucking asshole cocklicking piece of dog shit to work to no avail (can you tell i dont like that thing?)mainstream wrote:GM Maf and Maf translator!![]()
This isn't like a vacuum leak where it stumbles and runs like crap. The ECU quits delivering fuel period.
Kane

I also do not like the GM crap, for one there is no barometric sensor, at least in the one I could net get working well.
The Starions are a fuel only injection system, put a Megasquirt on it. Get it running well and then convert the ignition over. And be careful with RC injectors, How can he give you balanced injectors, they are two different sizes.
Also the Starion injectors are a 60 Degree spray pattern, any change to them narrows the spray, this is not an issue over 6000rpm but is a big loss of power below that.
Now that I have ranted, did you get a chance check things yet?

its gotta be the injectors or the ECU, its running good when its cold because its rich, when it goes to closed loop, it wont run over ' 2500 rpm? ' I am guessing, thats when the ecu gets information from the air flow input meter ( whichever one you are using) before 2500 most ECU's are in preprogramed mode
PM me and I will give you an adress for a mechanic,s net work I belong to and I will fix you up with the most up to date info
