I second the bad capacitor. Have you pulled it out to look at the board at all? There will likely be leaks from a couple capacitors if it's bad. Check Keydriver and TMO for directions and modifications. You can also check eBay for an ECU. They're on there all the time.

not the caps. just had them done. it is a 1st gen. and i went back over all my wiring found nothing. the problem im having is that it just falls on its face when i give it gas. fuel pressure is good. i have no air leaks any where. the only thing i see is that i have good spark on cyl 1&3 and 2 & 4 have weak spark. its not the coil. i tried a spair. and wires are new. also swapped them. still has weak spark. also i cant get the fuel side of the main relay to work. but when i plug a differnt ecu in that is a no start . the fuel side works. i have a ? about the caps though. the guy that did it only replaced 2 of them. i see three. there are the 2 big ones and then the 1 little one. the little one he did not replace, because it did not look to be leaking. does anyone know what the little cap works? also i dont know if it matters or not but this computer was a no start when i got it and i had it capped and this is how its been running since.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.
