Post by Siance »

Just the other day i decided to see if a had a eprom ecu in my 91 laser rs...and guess what...I do..and it's perfect!!! :D No acid, very clean!! Thats one less part i need for my swap.....And to think i only paid $500 bucks for the whole car!!! :D Anyway, for now my plans are getting it chipped for 850cc injectors(DSMchips) and my afc to make fine tune....I should be able to do ok untill i desire higher hp numbers......Now only if i could find a gt35r or gt30r for cheap!!!

congrats! i bought my ECU from a yard and got lucky too, turned out to be EPROM and I didn't even know what that was back then. Also, the turbo turned out to be a small 16g with 7cm housing.

very nice. consider selling your afc for $200 and taking the $130 for the chip and then spend an extra $220 and get dsmlink. you wont regret it. trust me.

$825.............yeah i know.... steal right??

Does anyone know what manifold i can run with huge beast!! I even thought about buying a ebay ex manifold and bracing it, but most of them have the waste gate flange on the wrong side...Causing the big housing to hit it(i think, i guess, it looks that way) I guess i'll have to buy a 2g manifold and make it a t3 foot print

use the turbonetics manifold like me. the wastegate out front doesnt mean anything unless your re routing it back into the exhaust.

Cool, im not a fan of running big boost, so thats good news to hear....It would be great if i could make 400hp with 15-18 psi!!! I belive i prolly have to run at least 8:8 or 9:1 pistons though... Hey what rpm does yours fully spool? im hoping with ball bearing it'll make it by 4 grand....

i didnt have a tach in the car when i tuned it but it felt like full boost was right around 4000 fairly well tuned. should be a bit less with BB.

well from what I read the 35r will fully spool somewhere in the 4000-4500 rpm range...on the 2.0 that is.......the stroker guys get full spool by 3500 so I read. im just not sure if 4500 rpm will be good for street. that's the main reason I started the thread asking about the 422 gears in the mghtymax. I know I won't need that much gear, hower 390's is sounding real nice right now....i told myself that i'll never buy another turbo too small....i think I might have went over board....:)...anyway well see won't we...im going to do the stock compression (7:7) for now so im not expecting fast spool...but when I build the engine 9:1 is going in there....i might even consider stroking the 63
