Evo 5 parts

Post by blooz »

I've got the possibility to buy an Evo 5 turbo, exhaust and intake manifolds, will the manifolds will fit my 1G DSM engine?
Any experiences with this manifolds? since the intake is right on the side we need for a RWD 4G63.

If the manifolds doesn't fit i'll get just the turbo, any comments?

Cheers.

You mean i'll have problems because it's twin scroll? I'm planning to build another turbo manifold since i've got a 2G DSM ported but i think i'll have clearance issues, i need to put the turbo up...
Any suggestions for a new exhaust manifold?
I think i'll use that turbo anyway... it's a gift. :)

The Evo 4+ manifold and turbo has been used on DSM motors in the past. The most vivid memory I have was Dentsport Garage's. They had to use 2x 1/2" flanges to space the compressor housing far enough to clear the balance shaft buldge in the block. I think they had to move the Alternator and power steering pump too.

I have no clue about the intake manifold though.

My opinion: You'll spend more money making the stuff that was given to you work, than you would just buying a new new turbo that would bolt on.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

I don't believe any of the manifolds will fit. They are basically the same as the current EVO engine, with the timing belt on the passenger side.
