yeah. i had a buddy do it. the fittings were $25 apiece though  it was worth it though. it looks cool and i would never have been able to find hoses with the right bends.

Those guys are awsome. I have the pleasure of knowing JR. His shop is about 15 miles from me. So it is very easy for me to do business with him. His shop is VERY COOL! I buy all my mandrel bends and silicone hose connectors from him. Not to mension a couple of intercoolers. I have had several dealings with him over the past few years, both buying and a little selling. Nothing but great experinces all the way! I would reccomend them for all your turbo cooling needs.

well the car has been running for close to a month now. its finally pretty well tuned as of yesterday. i broke a bellhousing on my th-350 so that was a setback. dont ask me how i did it. it was during the break in process so no racing. i fixed that and no it runs great. it idles like stock with the fp2 cams and 880 injectors. i took it out yesterday with the wideband and dsmlink and had it tuned after about an hour and 10 passes. let me say that this is by far the fastest car i have ever owned. and this is only on 12 psi and 91 octane no booster. the car feels stable at high speeds so thats good. i need to change my pinion angle as i have a little bit if a vibration at speed so ill do that next weekend. im very happy as it has met, and surpassed in a couple of instances, my expectations and its not even at high boost yet. its hard to imagine what this thing will be like at 20-22 psi on some good gas. ill keep this updated.

Have you considered running E85? That's recently become my fuel choice. 105octane for under $3.00/ gallon. Made from corn (aka its moonshine). I went way big on all fuel requirements so might as well give it a shot. Glad to see you back bye the way. And there has been ZERO progess on my car since the board went down 3 months ago. Still waiting on cage.

85% Ethanol + 15% Gasoline

http://www.e85fuel.com/e85101/faqs/e85.php

I do disagree with the whole carbon cycle thing. Its not like they're creating never-before-seen CO2. Its just CO2 that's under ground. But anyways.. I'm not here to save the planet.

http://dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread. ... thanol+E85

Matt and I checked out the station that sells it in Annapolis, MD the other week. They charge twice here ($3.00/gal) than they do in the midwest. It will be competative with the higher summer gas prices, and will probably always be cheaper than race fuel.

YAY as soon as mike reads about advocating E85 he's gonna go crazy... but your right 105 octane for like $2.60 a gallon and will significantly lower egt's... ive thought about this also (fyi, i drive a 95 s14 ka24de w/370's (270's are stock)) and they require about 40% larger injectors, so 880's might max out before you ever hit 20psi... maybe not, but it WILL be an issue... alrighty here's all my informative E85 links...

http://iacs5.ucsd.edu/~mbayless/afv/E85 ... st%20Page1

and then a informative PM from a guy on a nissan tuning forum

"Hey, I saw on the ECCS whatever forums that you were wondering about E85 for a turbo car. I didn't feel like registering over there, so I figured I'd give you a pm.

The biggest problem you'll have is the volume of fuel you'll need to run rich. That Mustang article showed that they didn't know how an O2 sensor worked, or the actual stoich. ratio of E85. O2 sensors work off an equivalence ratio(or lambda value), so it will report 14.6 if it's stoich for whatever fuel you are using since it just calculates the actual AFR and that only means anything for gasoline.

So anyway, stoich for E85 is .15*14.6+.85*9.0(stoich for ethanol) = 9.84:1

Assuming you had injectors that were almost static to run gasoline at 11.0:1, then you wouldn't be able to possibly run rich on the E85 blend at somewhere around 8.0:1 probably. Although with the higher octane and cooler charge you might be fine at 8.5-8.8:1.

So that would basically mean you'd need something like 550cc injectors for around 250-280rwhp on E85. So you can see that you'll quickly have *really* large injectors that will be difficult to tune on gas if you can run safely on E85.

I think some methanol injection would be a smarter choice, good volatility and cooling and a slight increase in octane, but you aren't restricted to only getting your gas at an E85 station(I know that's not common in TX, not sure where you live).

I enjoy opening up my old Internal Combustion Engines textbook, so maybe that answers some questions you've got about it. "

and last but not least a stupid mustang guy playing with big-boy gas http://www.turbomustangs.com/techarticles/e85dyno.php

well i hope this helped a bit, as there isnt much info on this yet... but make sure you run good oil with your e85 like mobile1 synthetic or something of the like, as the alcohol is effectively dissolved off the cylinder with crappy walmart oil. well, hope my nissan endeavors have proven helpful

I have 850cc injectors and dual walbro pumps and I can adjust the fuel pressure if I need a little more flow. Think that will be enough fuel? In one of the DSM threads I posted someone was running 1600cc injectors and getting 53% duty on them so they seem to be a little too big. I guess I'll just cross that bridge when I get to it.

ill just stick with good old c16 when i need the good stuff. i have too much money into this thing to be blazing trails. im hoping to try and run 20 psi with 91 urine this summer. i should be able to do it now that i have timing control. im thinking some 10 sec passes on pump might be possible if everything comes together for me.

20 psi on pump is doable my cousins 1g dsm running vpc and afc 660's with stock suel pressure settings and stock timming settings ran 22 psi on his forged 9:1 wiesco motor with a 57 trim
i run 20 psi on my 1g dsm with just an afc 660's and stock side mount with a big 16g i know it doesnt flow as much as your turbo tho
id say youll be fine with some good tunning
i would go alky injection and stay off the race gas almost all together

yes, as you really only need to run about 40% more, and thats at WOT... you dont have to run more than about 15% more at idle/cruising

Is it comparable in price to other 105oct fuels even with the extra consumption worked in?

thats just the picture. its a stock 2.0 pan. im thinking about a moroso pan inthe future though. it depends entirely on how deep the rear sump is bec ause that coould interfere with my steering rack.

peregrine, what exaughst manifold did you use, did you do any searching for a tubular manifold? i saw in the new modified issue a Mach V manifold that has the exturnal wastgate option.
is the turbo or the manifold flanged for the Garret turbo?
also, im looking into getting a JMF intake, did the stacks on the inside come standard?, and im lookin to go with a manual idle control valve body, maybe bbk? got any suggestions.

i used the turbonetics cast manifold. i wanted to go full garrett and have cast reliability.yeah my intake came with velocity stacks included.screw the ics. just block it off like i did.

thats what im using. i replaced the line today and it had a small crack right underneath the lip of the fitting. i think i overtightened it.

well ive been out beating on the fucking thing all day and it refuses to break so it looks like im good. i have to adjust the pinion angle as its off quite a bit and im getting a nasty vibration at high speeds. once thats taken care of ill get a boost controller and crank this shit to 20 psi and see what she does.

ok, i balanced the wheels and the vibration is gone so im good on that. cranked the boost to 20 psi and i keep geting boost leaks. i think its because i dont have a BOV and when i let off its busting my couplers loose. ill get a BOV this week. oh yeah, the car fucking screams at 20 psi. its scary losing traction at the top of second gear. fun at the same time in a suicidal sort of way too  only thing im having a problem with is running out of gas. im on it so much that im going through gas like nothing. i ran out today on hte way home from a BBQ and it sucked. thank god for friends  peace.

well i put a BOV on and took it to the track. it ran 11.80@116 with only 15 psi its first time out. im still getting used to everything so there is alot left in it suspension wise. as far as making power i can sneeze and itll make another 50 horses. i smell pretty easy 10s this summer. heres a vid of its very first pass ever. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/54BB ... 6A4B70.htm
it wasnt a heads up race. thats my buddy in the camaro and we were just seeing how the track hooked basically. i banged a 1.6 60' on this pass. haha it was so easy. all the money i spent on the suspension proved itself this day.

Holy crap! 11's on the first pass? Are you having any traction issues? What size tire you running on the back? My Datsun is similar in size, and I'm thinking I'll run into traction issues with the small width tire/wheel I'll have to use. I'm hoping to squeeze a 235 section on 8" wheel. Keep it up and keep us posted.
