I'm looking for contributers to search and find feature lists, comaprisons, and mainly... prices for the WHOLE working EFI setup ("DSMLink for 1G: $595 + 1G Eprom ECU: $200 + GM MAF: $5-50 + Translator: $250"... not just "DSMLINK: $595") You dont need to include things that are even accross the board, unless its something the ECU choice would requrie you to change (AEM needs a 2G knock sensor I think). So dont include injectors, temp sensors.. stuff like that.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

I was going to go with:

Old TMO RWD chip (free) and my ’94 ECU (Worth ~$250). But I really do not want to use a MAS (carryover habit from the old VPC days). So then I would have to get ether VPC or MAF translator.

I finally gave-up and decided to go with a used AEM EMS. You can find them used for around $1000 (bare in mind that they were $1000 when they first came out, so those people tend to sell them cheaper).

The problem with AEM is that you really do need to know how to use it, or have a friend(s) who can help you.

BTW DSM Link is now $550 ($50 price reduction). But sales of 1G version have been suspended pending resolution of a certain software bug...

We've heard of that one, Young Gun. It's pretty neat but it has deficiencies if you ask me. mainly if you use EDIS w/high rpms and high boost... I dont think it'll work so well. I could be wrong though.. Give us a full report by this time next week.

*Fuel Controler: "We have just what you need our FC-PRO-4 kit. We program it so it will be ready to run. Just tell us you injector size ,type, and any other mods to your engine. Includes: * FC-1 fuel injection controller. This is programmed ready to go, but changes can be made with software or optional hand held TD-1(tuner display). * Wiring harness made for the Conquest. * Water temp sensor. * Air temp sensor. * Standard map sensor (good to 20 psi). * TPS sensor. * Instructions. Price $495.00 If you have the stock ignition system you will also need the IAM-1 also. (not needed with MSD 6AL,BTM)"

These guy said that this system will work with the 4g63!!

so is this a stand alone? if not youd still have problems with fuel cut and rev limit. if i was going to pay that much money then id want dsmlink. id pay the extra $200 to find an eprom ecu. the only standalone that looks good to me besides the AEM is the haltech. bu thats too pricy and too complicated for me. id rather do a simple 16g, 550 inj., AFC car than screw around with all that shit.

I'm definitely putting together a megasquirt (using the msns-e code) for my e30/4g63, but then again, I've built one for a lancer evo 8 so this will be easy. The first and even second time building one it can get very frustrating when it comes to implementing it in your car.

I plan to run the stock ignitors/coil packs, but may upgrade to COP down the road. I also plan to do anti-lag (using beta code some guy created), water cooling for the intercooler, launch control (probably end up using this in place of the antilag, who knows), electronic boost control, and whatever else comes up.

Might as well go ahead and make the project even more nutty by building the efi system.

If anyone else is doing a m/s for their 4g63 let me know if you need any help... I might have answers.
