Running carbs - No distributor?
Guys,
There is no distributor per-se on the DOHC, but there is some sort of thing at the back of the head - how do I get that to trigger my ignition? I have a points-style-converted-to-a-pcikup-sensor setup (one trigger wire running to an MSD box then to a distributor via single coil - MSD 6)
Does anybody have a diagram or a schematic of the thing that runs off the cam? I think there are four wires coming from it... I'm going to be running DCOE 45 carbs so there will be no computer (and also there is no computer whatsoever in the car)

That is the Cam Angle Sensor. You have some experimenting to do. you'll have to figure out how to adjust base timing and advance the timing under load etc.
Here's the internals/triggerdisc

Here's the wiring and schematics of the ignition system

good luck!

Shit, I was hoping that CAS would have some springs and weights in it... :X
Hmm, I wonder if I can just use the computer to do the ignition... Are these computers fussy? Do they need to have all sorts of signals coming in from other management modules or sensors so that they work, or is the ignition somewhat (or totally) of an independent subsystem?

this might help?
I'm not sure if this will help at all, but you could bolt up a 1.8 1992 dodge colt vista distributor to the dohc head.here is a picture below.

here is a link to a guy who actually installed said distributor on his 4g63t powered summit /colt vista.
