The search is finally over I found a 4g64 wide block! the machine work is paid for and I order the pistons and pick up motor this weekend! get ready for a sick write-up with a million pics
The 4g64 is a VERY rare engine I didnt realize how hard it would be to find one until I called 30+junkyards
They're probably .020 over, so lets just hope you dont have .030 oval cylinders. You'll probably be okay. I'd wait on buying the bearings though . I'm going to hunt down some 2.4s around my area that I'll be able to pick up and ship to people if things get too rare in other parts of the country.
My block was from a 91 D50/Mightymax.
Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.
What's the MAX you think a 4g64 could be bored? The reason I ask is, there is one sitting in a truck at the local yard I can HAVE, if I pull it. Problem is, it's been sitting with the head off of it for a few years, cylinders are extremely rusted.
