I need some help. I'm trying to mate an engine up to the turbo Mazda RX-7 tranny, but because of the bellhousing, the input shaft splines barely engage with the clutch disk.
I saw on the main site a brief mention of the B2600 transmission having a slightly longer input shaft, which, if true, would be ideal for what I need. I basically need about 3/4 of an inch longer of splines on the input shaft.
Can anybody confirm this for me? If so, anybody have an input shaft to ship me?
That seems like it would be more difficult than just swapping input shafts. The engine I'm planning on swapping in (VW VR6 12V) has a 10 bolt flywheel that is hub centric, and 1 bolt is slightly offset to locate the fly correctly. I'm also having trouble finding a machine shop willing to work with me on this.
