these were built for Pacman, it is the very best Ihave built so far

all the GM side trans bolts have steel inserts US std thread into them, you can double nut them for security, and the starter has a metric 10 125 thread for the starter bolts

because the coupler was buit a bit different I was late on delivery because I spent a lot of time redrawing couplers for the future based on this build

I got your message John,
but I have shut out everything until I complete the T 56 the new intake design and the R 154 for about 20 guys
I am committed/focused
I never take any money until the project is complete, I work alone, if I got hurt or something I couldnt honor the contract and we all know 1 'aw shits' cancels out 100 ' atta bouys'
the R 154 is done, It has to go to casting Monday and get machine tested
I figure two weeks away from building a run of adaptors

David Burschur is an ass. a while back i sent him a detailed email about an idea i had to use one of his adapter plates to bolt up a T56. i included all of the details of my build, and simply asked what he thought of the idea and if he thought it would work. he responded by reading the first two sentances of my message, not answering any of my questions, and trying to sell me a 'built' mitsu auto trans. none of my money will ever go towards anything with his name on it.PacmanDSM wrote:Thanks alot Bill. Your work is greatly appreciated
Buschur no longer makes the 1g/2g adaptor plates. Only the EVO plate. Atleast thats what he said on EvoM back in Nov 08.
i even kept the message- i read it when i feel like getting pissed off and amped up for an argument...

I built some couplers ahead of my sales to send out for heat treatment, I am going to check out how it changes dimensions

I assume that the flywheel bolts are not torqued down too much to worry about messing up those nice aluminum couplers. I'm sure you've taken this into account, but thought I would bring it up.
Do it in a Datsun!

Hey Bill,
Im posting yet again on another of your trans adapters with a few questions on this one as I'm debating on which way to go.
1)Which starter works with this set up - i think you said toyota, but i didnt know which one...
2) Im completely new to the GM Autos...what is needed to run a trans and how do you determine which torque converter to buy and how do you set it up for shift points? I know in the auto DSM trans there is a TCU...is it the same thing or is this controlled some other way? I am looking to originally set my car up with an EVO 9 turbo, so I'm looking to shift around 7500 to 7800 rpm with I guess a high stall? converter around 4000 to 4200 or so? If this is a poor set up, someone please let me know. If not, please help me know what parts to purchase. Thanks!

the adaptor basicly creates an imitation Chevy block to bolt the Chevy trans to.
It uses EVERYTHING that you can buy for the Chevy 350/400/ powerglide transmission staright out of any hot rod parts supplier, nothing custom made, the starter is from a Toyota 85/95 22 RE engine, but you change the pinion gear for $15.00
there are no custom mods needed with my system, no custom converters, or flywheels or starters, its all over the counter stuff

yes, you can make the stock speedometer work, there are adaptors built for the 4wd guys that fit in the cable line, you can either reduce cable speed or increase cable speed to get the right readings, the way you correct the speedometer is to mark out a one mile strech, then drive your car over that mile with a working speedometer, look to see how the odometer reads, if its less then a mile, you need to speed up the cable, if its more then a mile, you need to slow down the cable
any clutch and brake shop can help you out with adjusting the speedometer internally, GM color codes different drive gears for different model cars using the hydromatic/power glider trans

And Bill comes through once again !
For those of you who have tracked the development of Bill's adapter here are some great pics which show the diffence in Bills new hardned coupler and cast adapter design. Here are some side by side comparisons of the old and new design.

its hard to tell in this pic but note the differnce in thickness of the hardned coupler which is bolted up to the flex plate vs the one in my hand.

Hare's some random pics for fun qualty and fitment is great only thing we needed to modify was the SFI bell housing (thicker aftermarket race legal bell housing) in order to bolt the starter in we needed to clearance the inside of the bell housing, nothing a die grinder could'nt handle. Note with a stock GM powerglide there was no modification needed the starter bolter right up. I do not want to hijack the tread so please keep keep questions and coments regaurding the project specific to the GM adapter. Enjoy

anybody can buy this set up at jegs I think it was $15.00
the starter is generic ( that means its built for many cars at once shroder)
The reasons I used this starter was because it was cheap, easy, reliable and had a good solid flange to fit my adaptor
The starter I use is from the Toyota 22 r engine with a manual transmission, 4wd or rwd from 88/93 bosch part number SR122X
Well, I am going to be ordering one within the next few weeks from you, but I'd like to go ahead and fab the transmission bracket. What I need to know for the crossmember is if there is an angle on the trans or if it is completely level. Also, what is the width of the mounting plate? 3/4 or 1in now...thanks!

in the old hot rodder dayz, the level of the engine was set by the angle of the front drive shaft u-joint and the level of the carburater base plate so the carb would be level
with fuel injection, you can set your angle by the front u-joint and disregard the level carb base
so really, its up to you , the designer. to build in the desired angle, my plate is flat on both sides, allowing an inch for the plate would be about right

Hey Bill, I went to order the starter gear and Jegs is on back order for an undetermined ammount of time. I cannot wait for the starter as I have an event in 2 weeks coming up that I am pushing to get everything together for, which leads me to two questions. 1) Do you have any extra starter replacement gears you are willing to sell or 2) Does the pricey Jegs starter still work with this adapter? Any help would be great!
Oh, and BEAUTIFUL adapter plate...I just got it in the mail and cant wait to get everything together. Thanks!

the 604 from powermaster does look correct and if the rest of the info is correct, it looks like either the Ford or the GM 11 tooth starter gear is the same

I am going to order the 604 from powermaster and check it out, in the mean time I will send you my gear so you wont miss the shoot out
