Another wiring question

Post by shroder15 »

I am currently working on a 1990 (EFI) D50 (swapping in a Narrow block 4g63t) and have most of the mechanical aspects worked out. The issue I am running into now is wiring. I have my entire dsm harness labelled and broken down, but am struggling with where to wire what up. Any help on what to splice in and where would be more help than you guys know! Apparently, I can build a motor, but cant figure this one out

I dont have the time or the extra funds to put towards having someone else do it. I think I found a pretty good write up for some assistance, but its in no way a "How-To". I have a friend who's very mechanically/electrically inclined, and he's going to view everything and try to help me out with it. When we do it, I'll try to document what it took to get it running. Check out hotrodcoffeeshop.com for more help. Just go to the forums and they have some wiring info.

Hey! That's my website! For what its worth, I recently got a spare harness to do a "how-to" with. So I hope to have more wiring info and pictures up there soon.

I'm also happy to help if you have any specific troubles.

Pm sent with info. My car everything runs like factory, plan on writing a entire tutorial on wiring. There is alot of info out there and different ways to getting the car running. The main thing is getting power to and from the MPI relay.

4g63mightymax, your website is one of the best for wiring info.

Well, it turns out the last owner of the truck was a little confused. It was a 1986 Carbed D50. Is the wiring info the same? Also, I'm a little confused on some of the other wiring pages I've read...Do you just use the ECU Harness from an eclipse, or do you need all the wires under the hood? Thanks again!

The truck chassis wire harness needs to stay in place, replace the engine harness with the 4g63 engine harness, then follow the info I sent you for powering up the 4g63 harness.
