New Flywheel & Clutch Setup

Post by lsr mike »

Well guys, thanks for the Info and the Links.

The details, turbo motor smoked the original OEM Clutch setup. When I disassembled the things I noticed a Hairline crack in the Cast Iron Flywheel, I guess It doesn't like 8000 RPM. hence my post earlier looking for Flywheel info.

I also found Clutchnet on this site, thanks, I think, internet reviews are from great to breaks a lot.

I got:

62702CR156 6 button E-Z Lock (sprung hub) clutch for Mitsubishi Pick-up
28033R Red 2X racing level pressure plate for Mitsubishi Pick-up.

Installing these parts and putting everything back in the truck this week.

More pix then.

I don't know if this is appropriate to ask or not, but can you give a ballpark of the price of that? I bet that I am going to be jealous of that once you get it installed and find out it doesn't slip.

Beautiful parts, its too bad they will never be seen once installed :)

Your in Columbus?

1) What ECTA class do you hold a record in?

2) Do you have and spare D50 trannies? :)

Dropped about $600 on the setup, all the prices of the bits are at Clutchnet.com and Fidanza... I did get a break on the Flywheel, check the e-Bay prices...

The Records I hold with the ECTA are in "F" motor (2.0-3.0L) Production Mini-Pickup, 119.219 MPH

and F Blown Modified Mini-Pickup, 136.005MPH with a slipping clutch.

Sorry,no spare trannies, I have lots of parts removed or replaced....
like a block with a bad #4, crank all scratched up, 2 sets of custom pistons with 1 piston in each set screwed up, balance shafts, Original Fan and shroud...E-prom ECU replaced by an AEM....Oh yeah a Cast Iron exhaust.

I could put together a really screwed up engine from ruined parts

next stop is Bonneville Speedweek, 36 days, 22 hours... I'm not counting....

I'd have to weed though my emails to get the number. Mike is a good friend, I was working with Shearer when he got his new turbo kit built with us.

Im not necessarily going against him, I juts want to be the first FWD street car to see 200 in a standing mile. Either at maxton, or Texas (not ECTA)
