yep, its gonna use either the AWD or the FWD flywheel either 7 bolt or 6 bolt with the Mits starter, the starter will be located in the same place as the FWD 4g63, this bellhousing will fit the 4G63 narrow block first and second gen , the 4G64 narrow block plus the EVO 4 through 9 and will adapt to the R 154
the starter is located under the intake manifold not the exhaust manifold. so is the hydralic slave cylinder, so you can route the exhaust and not be too close to the heat
my only concern is, the AWD starter has to be 5 mm closer to the block, IF the EVO has any obstruction on the block that MAY obstruct strater installation, I MAY have to move starter location to a higher AWD location
I promised a T56 bellhousing to Matt Arruda and I will be finishing his stuff out right now, I will finish the EVO pattern and get it into the casting shop by Friday,I am changing a few details because I am having an 'investment cast ' done which is a permantent mold so I could get it done in 2 or 3 weeks depending on how fast the casting shop does its job
the work is soooooooooooooooooooo tedious and attention to detail soaks up sooooooooooooooo much time, I just dont realize how long it all takes

Yes, it looks terribly tedious.
It would be brilliant if you could get them done within a month or so.
I needed a little prodding,
I put it down for a while ( I dont know exactly why) but I tend to make an inprovement and then just 'look' at it and then compare other stuff and then think about the wieght involved and the strength required with all the forces working on the peice, then finish it out
Hi Bill it's great that we all have someone like you who is prepared to do the painstaking development work for all of us
Your blood should be bottled

there was an old man at the edge of a mountian digging with a shovel, a young man came along and asked the old man, what are you doing?, the old man looked down at the boy and said ' I am moving the mountian'
The young man looked at this strange old man and retorted 'ridiculous! he replied, 'you can't finish moving that mountian with a shovel in your lifetime!'
I know, the old man said, 'You will have to do that '!

the EVO bolt pattern has been installed in the R 154 bellhousing and it is in the casting shop
I changed the roof of the housing to lighten up the casting and allow the hot air to flow faster
I eliminated a couple of gussets to allow an easier draft in casting and I lowered the existing gussets to a smaller profile
just a touch of detail, I added a vent in the lower case to get rid of any collected fluids
now its just waiting for the casting shop

when I deliver this to you , could you direct me to some museums there?
When are you coming over?
Tried to go to a museum the other day, couldn't get in as everyone else decided to go the day i went.
everything is fine and i built a Wx series form my friend, Thao,in new zealand but the exhaust manifold is on the opposite side on the EVO and the steering is on the right side of the car not the left side
I cant put the starter down low like it was on the EVO because it will be into the steering linkage, I cant place it on the other side of the engine because the bellhousing bolts are in the way, the only place to put the starter is in the upper left hand side, the only way to make it work is to change the exaust manifold with a custom header set up
I expect my car wil be the same setup at Thao's, both UK and NZ are RHD.
The exhaust manifold isn't too much of an issue as it will be a custom anyway.
sorry about the delay, I been getting ready for winter, this is an original W 55/59 toyota non turbo bellhousing that has been retrofitted from the 4G63 unit to the EVO bolt pattern, using a second gen 7 bolt AWD flywheel and starter
this is the new EVO version of the r 154, i havent been able to cut the backyet because i am just toooooooooooo busy >;o) but it looks real good
check out how nice the pivot ball centered this time
this is a good pattern, I will be having the investment cast made from this pattern

Pretty soon we're going to see RWD cars powered by EVO 4G63's
An interesting Idea because that motor is backwards. I bet there's alot of cars out there that would be a lot easier using the EVO style motor as compared to the DSM style.
Nice, the prospect of getting the housing is making me salivate.
The exhaust must be a bit of a bind with LHD cars, thought certainly needs to be put in to avoid the steering components etc. But CAs/SRs/KAs/RBs etc are all 'backwards' and people use them.
there you go Jezz MAN, its got your name on it, I built three of these bad bouyz here is a completed r 154 mated to the EVO 4g63 using the second gen AWD flywheel

Hi Bill
Glad I have found you on here, seems you maybe the answer to my I need for my LT build. I'm very interested in the EVO to R154 bell that your producing, are you planning any other box config with the evo engine?
Would you be willing to ship to the UK and if you could mail me a price it would be appriciated.
yes, i will be adding my T 56 and my W series bellhousings in the EVO bolt pattern but they will all use the second gen AWD flywheel and convert to the push style clutch
i have shipped all over the world, it wont be much over $ 100.00 USd to ship there, I just use US postal services

Just been looking at the R154 option as I know the stock transmision will suffer over 300hp. What is the cost of the bell housing?
