No, you would be stuck with the factory base timing. I am wondering if this(both cam and crank) would be in phase with the 1g ecu and not cause any funky issues? Technically, it should work fine with the only drawback being the fixed timing, which isn't a big deal while running some sort of program that allows you to change timing.jeffball610 wrote:Pretty cool. Does it allow you to adjust your ignition timing at all?

Sweet part. That's pretty much exactly what I was making out at Bill's last week.

I never did finish mine though. $210 is a bit high in my opinion, but whatever.
So does what signal does that produce? The trigger wheel looks pretty simple with 2 teeth. It doesn't look like it can produce the same signals as the CAS:

Nice part though. Anyone know what that tiny sensor is from?

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.
Why should that matter? By now, everyone should be using DSM Link or some other engine management system to take care of timingjeffball610 wrote:Pretty cool. Does it allow you to adjust your ignition timing at all?

So this moves the crank trigger signal from the CAS to the front of the block, but you still need to use a CAS or timing gear on the cam for the other signal?
So this is for using a 1G block with a 2G head? Do the 1G heads have provisions for the cam pickup?
Any clue where to get the pickup that's in that part? I could make that bracket for next to nothing if we can source a sensor.

No, 1G heads do not have such provision. In the mid to late 90's, people used to install 1G heads on 2G fairly often. This was before RRE/Magnus (I forget who was first), came out with a way to wire-in 1G CAS. Anyway, they had to weld in bosses in 1G heads for 2G CAS.

in stead of the cam gear 95-96 sensor type you can also go the 97-99 cam sensor witch goes in the the same place as the 1g cas but it is much smaller and there is no adjustmend to it. the onlything you have to do is drill and tap the end of the cam. they are also smaller so no need to adjust the firewall

I dont really think there that much smaller when it comes to the amount the sensor sticks out from the head. They are at least a Hall Effect sensor.screemin eagle wrote:in stead of the cam gear 95-96 sensor type you can also go the 97-99 cam sensor witch goes in the the same place as the 1g cas but it is much smaller and there is no adjustmend to it. the onlything you have to do is drill and tap the end of the cam. they are also smaller so no need to adjust the firewall
