This is incredible trolling material.

You're going to start a holy war with this project...more so than it already is. It's going to be awesome.

Its about time someone did this! I have always said this would be the holy grail of swaps. I never did it cause I hate mustangs but it just makes too much sense.
If it wasn't for colts there would be no DSM s.

I assume you have some 4G63 experience if you're going to be making 1200hp? The only person that might be close to making that much power would be Brent Rau of Osofast Racing. I think this is a great project, but let's start with 800hp and see what happens. I bet an 800hp car setup properly would get you into the 9's easily. Just add some NO2 from there and you've got a very fast car.

So what are your plans for the motor? 2.0L, 2.1L, 2.3L, 2.4L or something even more special? I'd love to know more. This could be awesome if it gets done. :D

probably 2.0 I'm shooting for 1200hp after I get use to driving it, at first though it will be making 8 or 9 hundred. Thats why i'm buy the borg warner S480 T6 flange. I will get some more up I just ordered the strange struts for the front and does anybody know where I can get some V-8 spindles for a mustang. I'm gonna take the motor to inlinepro and have them build the motor. Jeremey at inline is really good at building motors and he's done a bunch of 4g63's already. I'll get some pics up as soon as we start hopefully next week. Also the i got a T1 catch can and vacuum block for it.

I need a wiring harness, valve cover and oil pan and the front piece where the oil filter connects if anybody has any of that stuff.

V8 spindles for a Mustang? Junk Yard! I bet you could find a dozen Fox body Mustangs at any yard you go to. If you want some fancy race parts though, just do a quick internet search. You'll get a thousand shops on a single search. Race parts for this platform are so easy to find. And cheap!

I can't for the life of me find a thread that showed using some Ford Van rotors/callipers on a Mustang2 suspension that brought it out to 11 1/2" I think.. (it's been a few weeks)
If you saw thier adds, you would recognize them imediatly..

Dan Buschur (Dave brother), was working on one back in '96/'97. Unfortunately, he abandoned the projected :(. But for a while, there were some really neat pictures of 4G63 in a caged knotchback Mustang!

He was going to use powerglide tranny.

It all depends on your plans for the cooling system and the amount of room you have behind the head.

500hp through a T5 transmission? :? Hope it ain't stock. I've seen those things go bad at 300hp.

Anyway, I love to see everyone's progress and everyone's ideas. Hopefully I'll get some "extra" cash together soon and update my project too. Everyone's progress makes me want to get my car on the road even sooner.

Well, it isn't about power when it comes to trannies, all they see is torque. And you can build a low torque/high hp 4G63 engine ;).

Without torque you ain't gonna move either of those heavyweights.

Best way to think of torque is a force. A force (torque) exerting itself over a distance/time (RPM) = work (HP). So if u have a small amount of torque but its exerted at high RPM u can have the same HP as alot of torque exerted over a small RPM. A force cant do any work unless its moving, and there can be no power unless there is force behind it.

wiring

I have question about the wiring. We are suppose to use the dsm engine bay harness and make it work with the body harness on the mustang right?

I'm just gonna make a harness for the car and engine, but to answer your question you can try it like that. Like I told people before if there interested in doing stuff like this for a mustang I can make double of stuff.
