here's a project i'm starting on. Its a 87 mustang that' i'm gonna put a 4g63 in.
upr k member kit and rear
I pland on runing the S480 with the T6 flange hopefully to make 1200hp.
I'm gonna start on the chassis next week so I will post pics of the cage and parachute, tubes, suspesnion and motor fabed up in the car. Also gonna run a power glide.
Its about time someone did this! I have always said this would be the holy grail of swaps. I never did it cause I hate mustangs but it just makes too much sense.
I can't wait til it will be done. The car will have a 10 point cage with full intereior. Eventually when ever i gett he money I might by a g-force trans or lenco
I assume you have some 4G63 experience if you're going to be making 1200hp? The only person that might be close to making that much power would be Brent Rau of Osofast Racing. I think this is a great project, but let's start with 800hp and see what happens. I bet an 800hp car setup properly would get you into the 9's easily. Just add some NO2 from there and you've got a very fast car.
So what are your plans for the motor? 2.0L, 2.1L, 2.3L, 2.4L or something even more special? I'd love to know more. This could be awesome if it gets done.

probably 2.0 I'm shooting for 1200hp after I get use to driving it, at first though it will be making 8 or 9 hundred. Thats why i'm buy the borg warner S480 T6 flange. I will get some more up I just ordered the strange struts for the front and does anybody know where I can get some V-8 spindles for a mustang. I'm gonna take the motor to inlinepro and have them build the motor. Jeremey at inline is really good at building motors and he's done a bunch of 4g63's already. I'll get some pics up as soon as we start hopefully next week. Also the i got a T1 catch can and vacuum block for it.
I need a wiring harness, valve cover and oil pan and the front piece where the oil filter connects if anybody has any of that stuff.
V8 spindles for a Mustang? Junk Yard! I bet you could find a dozen Fox body Mustangs at any yard you go to. If you want some fancy race parts though, just do a quick internet search. You'll get a thousand shops on a single search. Race parts for this platform are so easy to find. And cheap!

if your gonna do spindals might aswell go sn 95 better brake options and 5 lug. for the rear for a budget 5 lug swap you can use the tracloc and axles from a ranger or explorer
88 conquest 4g63 now sporting a crankwalked boat anchor
I can't for the life of me find a thread that showed using some Ford Van rotors/callipers on a Mustang2 suspension that brought it out to 11 1/2" I think.. (it's been a few weeks)
If you saw thier adds, you would recognize them imediatly..

Dan Buschur (Dave brother), was working on one back in '96/'97. Unfortunately, he abandoned the projected . But for a while, there were some really neat pictures of 4G63 in a caged knotchback Mustang!
i'm gonna use aem. the car will be 5 lug and aerospace brake setup... Hopefully if someone buys my carbon fiber hood and trunk off my civic coupe then I can order my axle kit from moser. I'm gonna order the powerglide threw eb3 motorsports in chantilly va. Also got anypics of the mustang he was building?
Wow, Im glad to see someone else doing this swap as well. I am currently working on mine now, 87 notch. Yours is looking good though and good luck with the project. Looking forward to seeing you at the shoot out although I am taking a much more of budget approach with mine. Anyway Good luck and I look forward to the end result. Hopefully youll be at shoot out 09.

500hp through a T5 transmission? Hope it ain't stock. I've seen those things go bad at 300hp.
Anyway, I love to see everyone's progress and everyone's ideas. Hopefully I'll get some "extra" cash together soon and update my project too. Everyone's progress makes me want to get my car on the road even sooner.

Best way to think of torque is a force. A force (torque) exerting itself over a distance/time (RPM) = work (HP). So if u have a small amount of torque but its exerted at high RPM u can have the same HP as alot of torque exerted over a small RPM. A force cant do any work unless its moving, and there can be no power unless there is force behind it.
I'm just gonna make a harness for the car and engine, but to answer your question you can try it like that. Like I told people before if there interested in doing stuff like this for a mustang I can make double of stuff.
yeah I think ill do that. I have a lot of tunning on my ecu. from when it was in my awd before I riped everything out when the car got wrecked. one question how are you going about the motor mounts?
ok let me ask you this are you going to be using the brackets from the mighty max/D50 or are you makeing them as well. and I mean the brackets that bolt to the block.
well in that case have you fabed them is so how much for a set? If not then ill have to make them I'm planning on setting the engine in the car this week end to start doing the wiring and look for ways to run the plumming and my intercooler pipes I got my top mount t3 mannifold in today and ill be running the holset I have on the car right now. I was able to make 515 to the wheels with it so we shall see.

im thinking about doing this as well. i would only do it if i could find a decent notch shell though. i hate hatches. the chevelle is pretty much done except for paint so i got nothing to fuck around with
