WOW that is great work there Bill - I gather you will still be a fair while away from doing a manual trans for a 6G72 yet? Unsure if you remember me, but I wanted to do the 6G72 swap into my Sapporo coupe, got as far as mounting the engine on Montero mounts and then promptly pushed it into the ...

WTB: Starion/Conquest 16x8 -10mm rims

Hey guys,

I'm after a PAIR of the rear non-SHP rear 16x8in -10mm offset rims, any condition considered but would prefer in reasonable good condition with minimal kerb rash or buckles.

I'm in New Zealand but can arrange freight from my end.

Thanks!
Phil

There is no difference between a turbo or non-turbo crank, but there is a difference between SOHC and DOHC cranks - the front stub where the cambelt sprocket and crank pulley attaches is longer on the DOHC motor.

So use the D50 wideblock block with the DOHC crank and DOHC front timing cover/oil ...

I would be happy with a good increase of power over stock which is 320hp and 427Nm of torque. With the MIVEC technology and higher boost (12-14psi) I am hoping for around 350-400hp. I know those power figures are easily achievable (perhaps not the torque figures though).. and it almost certainly ...

I'm stuck at the trans to go behind it, am hoping to find a 2WD V6 Triton/L200 (D50 or Mighty Max on your side of the world) 5speed manual but they are proving hard to find here!

I could always use Toyota W58 or even R154 with custom bellhousing or an adapter plate, but that would be an expensive ...

I think they're easy to use, you only have to glance over a little bit to see a full rear view, whereas on normal door mounted mirrors you have to look right over. It's strange going from the Eterna into my daily driver, keep looking over the steering wheel and hood to try see what's behind me haha.

Ahh so to use an Evo4+ manifold you need a spacer also?

hrmm.. I'm faced with a problem them. I have power steering on mine and I think the turbo exhaust housing may be too close to the power steering lines and box if I use a evo4+ manifold.

that looks real good!

Did you have any issues low mounting the Evo 6 turbo with the factory manifold? How close is the turbo and downpipe to the engine mount and the steering box?

Cheers

Nice work! Interesting conversion on the old Trumpy!

Is that a custom exhaust manifold or can you get them 'off the shelf' so to speak? I too have a twin scroll evo turbo which I'll be using on mine, but I need to fabricate an exhaust manifold, was thinking of keeping the turbo high mount from ...

Yeah alot of the RWD mcpherson strut suspension from the 70s/80s are going to look similar.

As for my suspension up front I'm just using new KYB Starion inserts, with threaded sleeves welded on, 210mm long 62mm ID 9kg/cm springs with accompanying keeper springs, and at the rear as ...

I'm sure the head gasket for a 4G62 and 4G63 is the same, with the 85mm bore so perhaps that suggests the combustion chamber size on both heads are the same or pretty similar? I guess would would imagine the 4G63 combustion chamber would be a little bit better, and therefore would reduce the ...

4G62 comes in either non turbo carburettor, non turbo EFI, or single SPI form in either Cordia, 1st and 2nd gen Delica, 5th gen Galant-Sigma, and 1st gen Chariot.

As far as I know, they are almost exactly the same as the 4G63 like for like, ie comparing 4G62 carb to 4G63 carb, apart from the 4G62 ...
